Track Ir 5 Best Settings To Run It Smooth?

Featured Replies

In track IR itself what are the best settings?

In prepar 3D?

Vsync on or off?

FPS unlimited or not?

I have found when set at unlimited I get more fps but track IR is more sttutery or sticky.

33FPS limiter has lower fps but smoother track IR

Try setting TrackIR to have high affinity in your task manager settings. That might help quicken the response time. Set higher smoothness of movement in the TrackIR profile.

Im running as administrator and it wont let me change to high affinity.

How do I do it?

Sorry, I meant to say high priority not affinity.

So go task manager -> Details tab -> right click on trackir5.exe and set priority to high

Have you upgraded to the latest version of P3Dv2? Have you set AF settings for P3D to take advantage of all cores? Once I did both of those, I found trackIR response time much improved.

Intel i7 10700K | Asus Maximus XII Hero | Asus TUF RTX 3090 | 32GB HyperX Fury 3200 DDR4 | 1TB Samsung M.2 (W11) | 2TB Samsung M.2 (MSFS2020) | Arctic Liquid Freezer II 280mm AIO | 43" Samsung Q90B | 27" Asus Monitor

Yepp, it usually helps to set the priority in the task manager to "high".

There is, however, a way to set this as the default priority so that you don't have to do it every time you start up TrackIR. But I have forgotten how it was done ... Sorry! Maybe someone could step in here...
