P3D V2.2 And Windows 8

Featured Replies

Hi Scott,

I have used P3D v2.x (always updated to curent version) on both Win 8 and 8.1.  As far as performance, I find 8/8.1 to be better, especially memory management,  but this is a subjective assessment with no quantative data to support.

With the combination of the changes made in P3D v2.1 and later regarding how Win 8/8.1 controllers are affected, using the registered FSUIPC, and disabling all USB hibernation, that I have had only 1 controlelr disconnect now in several months of daily use.

I hope that this help,  Bruce.

I've only run P3D with Win 8.1 and, from what I have read here, have actually had less issues than most other users . . . and my performance seems to be perhaps a bit better many non-Win 8 uses (with similar systems).  When I was configuring my new PC last summer, I was initially hesitant about Win 8, but now I am very glad that I went with the newest OS.

Win 8.1 here too, no issues with it running Prepar3d v2.2. Note that all Windows 8 systems should be updated to 8.1 by mid May or you won't get support for updates.
