Fsuipc, Spad, Saitek, And Custom Hardware

Featured Replies

Hi all-

I currently run FSX and P3D, and have the following hardware connected:

1) Saitek Yoke and throttle quadrant (the combined model - throttle links thru yoke)

2) Saitek Pedals

3) CH Flightstick Pro

4) Saitek Radio Panel

5) Saitek AV8R joystick

I currently run SPAD to get the radio panel's rotary knobs to hit every frequency (Saitek messed up and the knobs with their drivers skip frequencies..)

So... I've typically been able to set this up OK, disabling an axis here and there. I like to use the AV8R switches for various things, as well as the switches on the throttle.

Anyway, I've been looking into building some of my own switches with parts from someone like Desktop Aviator, and am wondering if with this setup - and as it gets more complicated - I will run into any issues between FSUIPC and the Saitek gear.

Or, for that matter - is FSUIPC (paid) highly recommended even for simple setups?

I do find that sometimes assignments get messed up somehow, and don't think it's anything I'm doing specifically. I'd love to be able to save configurations.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrew

Fsuipc is the first thing to buy if you are building custom hardware, its mouse macros are brilliant and dont forget the easy ability to map buttons and keys to FS controls of which there are many more than are available through FSX and P3D controls dialog.

And the ability to have different profiles automatically loaded as each aircraft is loaded into the sim is worth the price alone, I could not imagine having to reconfigure my throttles every time I moved between Piston engines to Turbines and then to Jets.

I use LINDA to assign functions to controller buttons/switches. Search for LINDA here at AVSIM. There is a very nice forum.

For details about how I am using check out the blog link in my profile.

PS You need FSUIPC with LINDA.

..lot depends on the AC you are trying to configure. I got the fuel selector from Desktopaviator easy to configure with all Stock and most Carenado AC, Via FSX controller , Linda or SUIPC, but got nowhere when I was trying with RealAir B60 or Milv B55 or even Carenado Malibu Mirage .... same thing  with GoFlight modules  .... I think the a/c Developers, are not listening to us, we are investing lot of money in Hardware, and most of them are still in the era of clicking KB buttons or scrolling mouse wheels. A very interesting experience is with the new A2A C172 .. I mange to have all the buttons switches and levers working using Linda (no I'm not tech Gizmo)... even the Cabi Air Vents the, Cabi Heater, flooding light Glare shield light and Gauges light.. it is so realistic and fun, and needles to say that as RW student pilot it gets you acquainted with (almost) a real Airplane operation... what else you can ask from of the shelve Simulator  ....

Cheers

Thanks Yair!

yes, that A2A looks tempting. I fly one in real life so possibly can justify it that way ;)

cheers

Andrew

..this little C172 is really cool .. I was working on my checklist and all of a sudden, I noticed that the windows covered with vapors, had to open the window ..and it's gone ..this, I'll call virtual realty  ... :LMAO:

Hi,
could anyone tell me, if I can use the Saitek Panels with the SPAD in the Airbus X Extended ?

Thanks in advance...
