May 1, 201412 yr Unfortunately, there will be no SDK Release for Flight. I've been in contact with Microsoft some time ago, but there seems to be no luck in obtaining any of the tools. "The future looks bleak." The main reason into this is due to the legal restrictions that were placed on the tools during development. No one bothered to change these restrictions after the development stopped, so the tools cannot be released until permission to do so is given by the original software developer. If these restrictions were to change in the near future, Microsoft Flight will inform us all via its "social channels." For now, don't lose hope, Kavinda J.D Kavinda J.D ^_^
May 1, 201412 yr so the tools cannot be released until permission to do so is given by the original software developer. Hm. Musta been one of those third party developers that so many people said weren't involved in Flight. Hook Larry Hookins Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of EarthAnd danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
May 1, 201412 yr Sad news but I didn't really expect anything more. I just hope that Microsoft Flight will not lose its multiplayer component and ability to activate DLCs after July 1st.
May 1, 201412 yr Author @ChaoticBeauty: Activate DLC's? I thought that function was already lost since I tried this out as well last year. After the closure of GFWL, I wasn't able to download or purchase any new content. Apparently, there was a problem, but I never got to the end of it. But, yes, a loss of the Multiplayer function would be a massive blow for Flight. @LHookins: I believe that the tools that were developed were made internally by software developers such as Stonelance, but most of the third party software used for developing Flight had modifications and therefore there were the enforced restrictions by the original software developers as well as the restrictions by the Flight Dev. Team. The majority of the tools that would have been in a release of an SDK for Flight, would have been internal tools. Kavinda J.D ^_^

But, yes, a loss of the Multiplayer function would be a massive blow for Flight. I downloaded a few DLC packs 3 months ago just fine. I sincerely hope this hasn't changed since then. After July 1st the GFWL online services will be completely retired. Many GFWL games have combated this by moving entirely to Steam, but Microsoft Flight was removed from Steam instead. <_<
May 2, 201412 yr For me, the end is here for the following reasons: I waited too long to get the downloadable content; I can't get Stonelance's Flight Tools to install; and now it looks like there will be no SDK. So for me I see no future with Flight. It's a pity because it had so much potential. But it's time for me to move on.
May 2, 201412 yr Stonelance is pretty responsive in supporting people using his software -- have you asked for help?
May 2, 201412 yr Stonelance is pretty responsive in supporting people using his software -- have you asked for help? Yes - he couldn't figure out what my problem was.
May 3, 201412 yr Author @tlorey: What was the problem, post it here or on the Flight Toolkit Support and Questions thread, some might be able to help. If you can't install the tools tell us what problem you receive. I guess the other option of getting some development would be to create some tools ourselves. It looks pretty difficult when looking at Stone's Flight Toolkit but you can create some similar programs using Visual Studio, but you have to know a fair bit of programming! Kavinda J.D ^_^
