February 14, 200521 yr Guys I've been doing some virtual flying in thebeautiful state of Washington and find that I'velost KUIL (Quillayute State Airport)I've got the default afcad, but the airport showsup as a field, I have aircraft on the field but noconcrete at all.According to AFCAD 2.1 the airport should be inthe Namw directory in a file called AP914140.BGLwhich I do have the file and its 37,294 bytes. So have I somehow over time deleted this airportor is it missing in the initial install?I supose my next step is to try and find it onthe installation discs and reload it?Thanks guys __ Catmar
February 14, 200521 yr Hope this helps. Just checked my installation. I have the same file in the same location. Here is a screenshot on the active runway:
February 15, 200521 yr Author Yep it helps Bob, thanks...I now know its something wrong in my installation. I thoughtit may have been airfield elevation, but seems that's okay, airfield elevation is 197.9ft and afcad is 194.0 and havingchecked other fields its seems like there should be a 3.9ftdifference.Anyone else help me out here, oh yes by the way I extractedthe AP914140.BGL from my install disc, it was in cab8 andit is exactly the same, so its not that.STUMPED... __ Catmar

February 16, 200521 yr I imagine you have an exclude file somewhere that is turning off your scenery. Try loading the default airport in AFCAD and then saving it in its own file and installing it with your other AFCADs and see if it now shows up (I'm assuming you have your AFCADs at the highest scenery priority). If that fixes it, then you need to figure out which scenery area is excluding your airport. Turn off all your scenery folders at higher priority than namw, and see if your airport is there. If it is, turn on half of the higher scenery at a time, and restart and see if your airport disappears. Then take half of the half, etc until your find the scenery folder that is killing your airport. Most likely there is either an exclude line in scenery.cfg for a scenery area, or one or more files with "excl" in them, indicating exclude data.I guess its also possible to have a file with a "delete airport" command in it, but I think AFCAD would catch that and show it as another AFCAD for KUIL. I think also your airport would not show up in the "go to airport" dialog, nor any AI there either. One other thing, I checked out the elevations, and the airport is at 59.131 meters, and the flatten under it is 59.125 m so that should be OK.scott s..

February 17, 200521 yr I have a similar problem with Belgrade.Interesting is that it neither shows up as default airport nor when I install the avaialable freeware scenery for it. The flatten is there but the airport is simply gone. Was quite interesting to find out when I was on the ILS approach in my A320, came through the clouds at about 500 feet and there was no runway, just a snowy field... :-abduct
February 17, 200521 yr Author Know exactly what you mean Farlis.I have discovered that GeoRender 5 is the culpritfor the dissapearance of KUIL for me.Georender 5 is FORKS S18 which is very near KUIL.The Scenery.cfg file shows that there is no flattenswitch for the area.Is anyone else using Georender 5 with the sameproblem? Thanks for pointing me in the right directionScot.Regards __ Catmar
February 17, 200521 yr Author Okay guys I have the answer to my problem, seemsthat there is an update for Georender5 which Ican download which will give me KUIL back.I should have gone to Lago as soon as I foundout that Georender 5 was the cause. Thanks for the help I received.regards __ Catmar
