Try running FTX Global Vector Configurator using the Airport Elevation Corrections tab it will automatically correct this problem as I assuming it's the same in Prepared as it is in FTX.

Once upon a time I used to put my cursor on a knob or a Direction Indicator and I could see information such as what the dial is or what heading I had, not sure what happened but now I have nothing when I hover my cursor over said knobs, dials and buttons etc. I seem to recollect this action before I installed DX10 Fixer so wonder if that's the problem? I checked the various options. Show Cockpit Tool Tips is checked so if there is there something I've missed? Thanks

Thanks I do believe you are correct, with UT-USA, UT-CA, UT-EU, The Orbx, UK2000 and FSGenesis, it maybe too big a risk, so the best bet is to be patient and wait until the sim gives out, giving me a perfect excuse to re-install and several weeks of adding the purchased scenery, and an opportunity to arrange things better than last time, like all add ons to another drive, leaving just FSX on C drive. Not sure, but maybe you will have to look in the registry, maybe the link to the sim is still in there, but not an expert so maybe I'm way off base here.

Can anyone please tell me if the "addon scenery directory" and the main scenery directory with the 000 to world directories are left intact when uninstalling the sim? I was advised to backup the scenery files by using the settings menu? and to also save the fsx.cfg file. I have FSX standard, I have now purchased FSX Deluxe and the expansion pack and want to install them, but try to avoid having to install all my sceneries over 100Gb of the stuff mostly Ultimate terrain, EU, USA and Canada, a lot of Orbx and most of UK2000, I also have Norway X and NL2000 installed. The sim is stable, but it would be nice to have the SDK and all the other goodies that deluxe and the expansion supplies. I was going to wait until the sim started to give me a heardache but so far not doing so, I have had the deluxe and expansion pack almost a year lol, but I do need to know what happens on an uninstall so I can avoid if possible having to install all of these scenery files which will take weeks. Don't the answer I will get will be what I want, but I have to ask. Thanks

To all you FSX experts out there! I have FSX Standard which as you know is a little stunted in what the Gold version can offer. I have now bought FSX Deluxe and Expansion Pack, I had in mind to wait until there was a problem with standard and take the opportunity to uninstall and install Deluxe and Expansion, I should mention that the standard edition is SP2. Long story short, I seem to have a very stable system and nothing so far has gone drastically wrong enough for me to take the plunge. To all you knowledgeable people out there is there a way I can install the missing features that deluxe has without messing up my stable simulation, or would it be so terribley complicate and tiresome that it would not be worth the effort and either wait until standard gives me a big headache and then uninstall Standard and install deluxe and expansion. I'll take this opportunity to thank you good people out there that have help me out in the past and hope someone can again jump in and give me some directions to do what I have asked or tell me otherwise. Ha ha, there is an glideslope shack and antenna, and a couple of windsocks, so these are objects the ADE does not recognise although they are actually there in the scenery, just goes to show always check the obvious. Thanks for the help, learned something.

Great then you got the idea of what, why, and the how. The trafficaircraft.bgl I was indicating to you is the microsoft orgiinal traffic file that comes with the default traffic flight plans for fsx. That's all the fictional airlines that they were forced to use by the airline industry if I remember correctly, but someone will correct me if I'm wrong. You do not want the original file to run because that introduce fictional airlines into your airports. Only the aircraft and airlines that fly from Bombay and Amsterdam should show up at those airports if you are using WOAI packages. Each WOAI package contains aircraft, airports and flight plans for that companies schedule for summer or winter, they are real time flight plans that the company flys to and from, If you understand me. That is why you need all of the packages, which makes it hard work as you have to install and convert each package for use with FSX. I use Ultimate Traffic 2, which is very versitile and I could be wrong but as far as I know its the only package that uses vor, intersections, ndb's etc to fly a route, in other words the flights follow real routes where I believe all the other traffic programs follow direct routing great circle routes from one airport to another. I find UT2 great for flying the jets because you can see aircraft in front and behind you in trail if you have filed and are following a proper route, not trying to sell it, just telling you of my experience which may vary from one person to another.

Yes there are packages for each airline that they do and also updates. Basically you download the packages you want, use the woai installer to install them, then if you are using fsx you have to convert flight plans to the fsx format and then delete or move the original fs9 flight plans. Sorry just editing to telll you more. The packages have aircraft, airports and flight plans that that company uses, the flight plans are based on realtime schedules at airports that are used in reality, so if that airlines flys to say 15 airports that is what you'll get, so no they do not use every airport, but by downloading all the packages then I would say most of the airports would have traffic. I hope that helps.

To answer your questions, in your Program Files/Microsoft Games/Microsoft Flight Simulator x/scenery/world/scenery folder you should find the convertered traffic bgl files that youconverted using AIFP provided you have followed the prompts and done it correctly and had AIFP append FSX to the converted traffic files. In that folder you will find you havethe original traffic file and the converted file. You must delete the original traffic files otherwise the ai aircraft will not appear, you must only have the fsx converted files in thatfolder along with the default files that came with your flight simulator. To stop the fictional airlines showing up I just renamed the trafficaircraft.bgl to trafficaircraft.off. Now theonly flights being flown will be the woai flights. Maybe if you don't understand what I am trying hard to say, it would be better if someone with more understanding take over and offer help because I just might cause you todo something that will mess your system up. Either that or you might be better off in buying a traffic application that like MyTraffic X which will do everything for you on the install. I would like to help you more but I just don'tknow how to go about telling you in a better way, If I was there at your computer I could do it with no problems, but doing it over a message board is not very easy as there aretoo many variables. If you wish me to continue please let me know.

The only problem is that WOAI was designed for FS9 but if you use the converter in AIFP then it will work just fine. Try it, if you're not happy then buy a ready made package. I use WOAI and Ultimate Traffic 2, which is very versitile and does have a steep learning curve because it uses a different method of injecting ai traffic into the simulator. As Rockliffe says you can use the lite packages. WOAI is good if you want to learn how AI flight plans work because it's a little more hands on, but it works just fine.

Yes just go to the scenery/world/scenery folder where traffic files are usually stored. I have never had any problems with WOAI but I'm sure some people have, all I can say is I never had any problems once you know what your doing and you get that be making mistakes lol...good luck I'm sure you will now crack the problem. If you are downloading WOAI packages and using their installer (which you have to use) then you will get FS9 ai flight plans, you can install them into FSX as their woai installer gives you the choice of fs9 or fsx, choose fsx and install the package, once installed you can then use AI Flight Planner to convert the fs9 flight plan into an fsx flight plan, have the ai flight planner append the FSX on the plan so you know for sure it's the converted plan. Once the plan is converted you can delete the fs9 plan or store it somewhere safe on your drive. I just delete mine. I hope that gives you a little more clarity. If not get back to me.

No you don' need to have FS9 installed. This software converts your FS9 ai flight plans to work with FSX. You can not mix fs9 and fsx ai flightplans together as they do not show up in the sim. The converter is easy to use provided you read carefully what the prompts indicate you should be doing. If you have problems I can help you, but not off the top of my head cos I'm really bad at remembering menus etc, but once I have the software in my hands I can run it. You should not have any problems if you just follow the prompts. Have a great one.

Okay here's the problem, I recently downloaded scenery for Norway from http://www.flightsim.no/fsno/ I do not speak Norwegian and I amnot a member of their forum so before attempting to join their forum and asking them I thought I would try and get an answer here becausein the past I have almost always got one, some very knowledgable people in these forums so you never know. So I don't waste time tryingto explain I thought I would take a screen shot of the little black squares which say unknown object, I am hopetul I may find the anwserhere. I have runway12 libraries loaded and thought maybe I need ez-scenery, but however rather than pay out 29 USD it would be prudentto ask here, if no luck then I will be forced to try the scandinavian forum. Thanks to anyone that reads this thread and a big thank you to anyone who is able to answer the question on what these blacksquares represent.
