I have always been able to print the documents for the PMDG 737 and 747, however, for the 777 I am unable to print the Flight crew training manual and the Vol 1 and 2,  there is a security setting on these documents and have no permission to print.

Could anybody tell me the reason for these security settings or is this to make me buy these documents.

Boeing does not want you to print them.

Unless you have a cheap printer, you'd probably save more money buying a dedicated e-reader or tablet just for pdfs. I made the switch for cost and storage reasons.
