February 15, 200521 yr Hi I have a new computer that is ajoy to behold, with smooth flying and good frame rates. It is marred however, by the colour of the water, which is of a light turquoise hue. I installed Bill Lyons "waterzone" in the hope that it would make aome difference but unfortunately it didn't. Occasionally, during the flight the sim will suddenly revert to the proper water colour, but this is unpredictable as to when it might happen.I have searched the archive files, and found this reported before, but no cure suggested, other than it is affected by the amount of cloud loaded in the weather pattern. I can confirm that if I make a "clear sky" selection, then everything's fine, but load any cloud pattern, and the sea looks a milky blue/green.Any suggestions would be most welcome.Processor AMD Athlon
February 16, 200521 yr Commercial Member This is the result of setting "high" water effects in the graphics options. I really like the way the Flight1 FS Water looks, but it's payware, albeit cheap IMO.That's a killer system you've got there - noticed that the motherboard is mislabeled though - it's the A8N, not the ABN. ;) :D Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

February 16, 200521 yr Water does not always appear blue just as the sky is not always blue, but this is in the realm of the subjective. I like the varying water colours in FS2004 especially the effects at dawn or dusk.
February 16, 200521 yr Hi TabsMany thanks for the reply and advice. Put it down to poor eyesight and the onset of senilty re. my misreading the motherboard label.Yes I tried moving the water slider completely over to the left, and it works. The only snag is, of course, that to use the Flight 1 water programme as you suggested, it is recommended that the slider is in the extreme right position, which negates the improved colour. Back to square one I'm afraid! Thanks again

Not sure what you mean. The slider all the way right and FS Water textures give you very realistic water color. If you are still dissatisfied then I have no clue what kind of water you want.Michael J.WinXP-Home SP2,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8,Radeon X800Pro,36GB Raptor,1GB PC3200,Audigy 2 Michael J.
