There are way more things to worry about/be excited about in this world than this especially when men start kissing each other to celebrate...

What new arrogant player get's to be the next millionaire is about as exciting as watching grass grow...

Having been Sydney Crosby's Hairdresser for about 2 years when I lived in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia I will say I disagree with you. When you get one on one time with a top athlete and get to know them personally you see a different side to them then you see in the media.

Little tidbits that you see in the media doesn't reflect the real person behind it, the hard work and sacrifices they had to make to be there, so easy for you to criticize based on what little you know about the person through the media or news reports.

No kid likes to get up at 5 am through their childhood to get in 2 hours of practice before school, but they do it, and a lot more then just that, nothing in this world is a free ride.

Dude being a musician in Minneapolis I've bee around plenty of stars and in some cases their worse in person than what they portray in public.  Case in point Prince is terrible.  He doesn't allow his staff to talk to him, pushes people around, unreasonable work schedule, and an all out jerk to his fans in person.  In contrast Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis are really nice guys.  Janet Jackson is nice in person and many others I met.  I was surprised to find out William Shatner (Capt. Kirk) who I met a couple weekends ago was not that warm in person to most but maybe that's because he's 83.

Musicians are different. I've never had an issue with sport athletes but have had exposure to several musicians as well. Musicians don't have the self discipline of an athlete and are artists, not goal driven or competitive like an athlete.....two completely different things.

Sports fans can be tough on their teams and players but if given a chance to hang out on a Sunday Barbecue with an athlete any sports fan would love that one on one time. You do see the other side of the athlete then you do in the media when you do get a chance to hang out with them.

Some athletes can be jerks but overall they are very good ambassadors to their sports.

Sadly many children don't have that luxury.  Anyway great on you being a hands on father just like I am.  I guess I'm a little ticked when I see how much my taxes are going to go up for a new Vikings Stadium that the public didn't agree to.  The Vikings aren't winning games like other teams yet they need a new stadium at tax payer expense.  For those that want to contribute that's fine but forcing everyone is wrong especially considering the team has more than enough to pay for their own stadium (especially if true fans pitch in).  It's hard not to separate the bad apples from the game when something like this is going on that affects a whole city and in some cases the state... So seeing this thread prompted my aggravation.

Agreed...

Ever heard of Jerry's World. Lots of taxpayer dollars going to house that horse's hind quarter. And they lose on top of everything else. At least many of us former Cowboy fans enjoy watching JJ nearly have a stroke when Tony throws the game away. I'm with you, Dillon!
