Controls setup

Featured Replies

Just got P3D2.

I see the GUI is different but mostly still like FSX.  Unfortunately my CH throttle doesn't work too well....  it's enabled and I can set buttons on it but the throttle won't work.

Also  I set buttons on the throttle and they won't save.

Additionally can P3D2 work with Track ir 5?

Most definitely works with no issues with Track IR 5.

Ryan, I haven't a clue either. My CH Yoke was recognized the very first time I loaded P3D...

You might have a look at your ..\Controls\Standard.xml file and see what the entry for your AXIS_THROTTLE_SET event is:

    <SimControls.Map>
        <Name>CH FLIGHT SIM YOKE USB {CD890DF0-C8D7-11E0-8002-444553540000}</Name>
(* ...snipped out some stuff for brevity... *)
        <Axis>
            <AxName>ZAxis</AxName>
            <Index>2</Index>
            <AxEvent>AXIS_THROTTLE_SET</AxEvent>
            <AxScale>127</AxScale>
            <AxNull>1</AxNull>
        </Axis>

    </SimControls.Map>

Well I'm silly....  I apparently forgot to actually map the throttle "Z" axis to my CH throttle....

Working now.

edit:  Working, but not saving my controller preferences after a restart.  I even set my stuff, changed airplanes, and set that as default flight.  It will load default flight but  controls are back to default every time... GRRRR

Ryan, try editing the file and save it before you launch P3D...

I also had problems with saving my controller assignments after a clean install of P3D. I solved it by first deleting all controller axes, saving and exiting P3D. Then restart P3D, assign the axes and then save. Now it should keep the assignments. Read that somewhere over at the Prepar3d forum. Worked for me...

How about the landing gear toggle change to gear up and gear down.  I attempted the controls.cfg fix as if I was dealing with fsx still but it won't seem to take.  I want to use my switch down for down and up for up but right now down makes the gear go up and down alternatively. What am I missing?
