  1. Yes. No problem here. The latest build is performing excellently on my end.
  2. That sounds a bit frustrating and for sure kills some of the excitement for the new hardware. I hope you get it sorted quickly. One question: Did you order from the global store or preorder from a regional store? I‘m just curious because European preorders still haven’t been delivered. I know a wait of 2-3 months is to be expected, but would be nice to hear if others regions start to see first deliveries of the preorders.
  3. I have the problem that with the last couple of builds, I get severe stutters when I first install the build. Then after using it a couple of times, the stutters somehow disappear. I deleted shaders, sound drivers and what not, but there seems to be no proper fix. Very strange. Performance is in general very inconsistent.
  4. No. I'm on a Pimax Crystal Light with the full resolution, which is the same as the Pimax Original. It all depends on the headroom you have left on the CPU. With GA aircraft in less populated areas, it will certainly increase fps. Not with airliners on heavy airports and with AI traffic. In these scenarios, the CPU is the precious resource. Not the GPU if you run anything above a 5080.
  5. My experience is that Foveated Rendering is a double-edged sword anyways. It can take load off the GPU but at the cost of significantly increasing load on the CPU. In my case, for example, I get significantly lower fps in the Fenix with AI traffic if I turn on Foveated Rendering compared to when I turn it off. Of course, this is driven by the fact that my GPU is very powerful and the CPU is the limiting factor with complex aircraft and AI traffic. But I would assume that this also applies to others who run 4090s or even 5080s. So be careful. Foveated Rendering always sounds like the life saver for fps but under certain circumstances it is actually quite the opposite.
  6. Same here. That sucks. Had a bit of spare time and now the simulator doesn't work...
  7. When flying airliners (Fenix, iFly, etc.) at full resolution of the Pimax Crystal Light and medium to high settings in MSFS 2024, the utilization of my 5090 is at 100% and I get between 40-45 fps on large airports. I had a 5080 before, which was struggling in these scenarios. In less heavy GA aircraft, the 5080 was ok and I still got nice performance. But the Crystal Super has even higher resolution...
  8. I'm also experiencing these long frames in VR. Very annoying.
  9. Great. With the new build I get CTDs.
  10. I think with the last updates it is really important to clear caches when installing a new build. I upgraded to the latest version today and had severe stutters. Could have been because I installed the latest DLSS files with the previous build but left it at v3.10.1 this time. Once I deleted the NVidia shader caches as well as the rolling cache, the stutters were gone and performance is back to normal (which is still slightly worse than the first SU4 beta builds).
  11. No, it is not working properly. If I limit the fps to 45, then I get 32-33 fps in VR. When I disable the limiter, then I get a steady 45 fps (locked at half refresh rate in the Pimax software). Absolutely ridiculous.
  12. Do you guys clear the rolling cache with every new release? I have never done that, but thinking that I should give it a try because of the stutters I have been getting lately.
  13. Unfortunately, the latest beta is not working well on my system. I have much lower fps than in previous builds and I get frequent stutters with sound drop-outs indicating a near-CTD. Really disappointed with the latest release. I'm so happy that I have done numerous flights with the first SU4 betas which were heaven in terms of performance. On my system, the main thread is very inconsistent again which leads to stutters. One step forward and two steps back again...
  14. Same here. And recently I also have a hard time turning landing lights on and off in the Fenix.
  15. Even without controllers, the mouse is not working 100%. It is working mostly but sometimes I cannot flick switches because they don't react when clicking the mouse. I have to look away and then back at the switch to make it work. Was never a problem before SU4 beta.
  16. Same here. I also see worse performance than in previous beta builds and most notably the stutters on landing are back. Too bad…
  17. Not here. My 5090 was always hovering around 60-70% in SU3 in VR. Now it is always close to 100% in VR. Paired with much much better performance.
  18. Since SU4 beta is much heavier on GPU loads this could point to a bad overclock of the GPU. Or maybe even a bad overclock of the CPU. Just as another possible train of thought.
  19. A slideshow would be greatly exaggerated. Actually, I have a very smooth experience (as you would assume with a 5090) but still these occasional 1 or 2 heavy stutters on final. Doesn't seem to be much, but in this stage of the flight it really kills the immersion. But I agree that things are at least getting better and the SU4 better is a very good step in the right direction.
  20. So what’s the fix then? Or should we just accept that it is that way? And why is this not the case with MSFS 2020 or X-Plane? If they know what it is, then why don’t they do something about it? Or is this never supposed to be a proper flight simulator? The landing is by far the most relevant and fun part of the entire flight. I don’t want to accept that it can’t be any better.
  21. This has nothing to do with details being too high. E.g. when I take off from Aerosoft EDDF in the Fenix, the takeoff roll (even in VR with SU4) is smooth. No problem. However, on landing there are often some severe stutters, when getting within 500 AGL. To me it appears that the system is loading certain items when you get closer to the ground. And that creates stutters. Could also be something else. But these stutters are a pain when you are on final as it can completely mess up the approach. It is a little better in SU4 bit still exists. By the way: I do run AutoFPS and also tried Dynamic settings to no avail.
  22. Sorry, but I have never talked about VRAM as this is (fortunately) never an issue with the 5090. I talked about GPU utilization which is much improved.
  23. For me at least, performance is much improved. My 5090 is finally running at full 100% utilization in VR leading to much better FPS when flying airliners around large airports. One quick tip: Try turning off foveated rendering in complex aircraft. On my system foveated rendering actually harms performance when flying complex airliners because it needs additional CPU resources which are scarce in complex airliners. Given that my 5090 has plenty of GPU headroom available, turning off foveated rendering increases FPS because it takes strain off the CPU and shifts workload to the GPU. But this off course might be different if you run a less powerful GPU.
  24. Honestly, I can’t see how it is bad when the software uses all available resources. Doesn’t mean that it needs more resources but just uses resources that are available better. Previously, my 5090 was sitting at around 70% utilization but FPS were only at 30 in VR. Now at least this insanely expensive piece of hardware gets used and FPS are at 40+ in the Fenix on large airports.
  25. Just did a test flight in the Fenix. Great flight. Much better performance in VR than with SU3. The 5090 is fully utilized at 100% at a large airport such as EDDF (in VR with a Pimax Crystal Light at full resolution with DLSS Balanced). They definitely have improved the code so that it takes more advantage of the GPU. Great step in the right direction.
