  1. Not true. Hybrid mode will give you a different appearance in the full FTX region with some objects missing compared to activating the region. And Hybrid mode will kill your VAS. Doesn't work if you fly complex aircraft add-ons. Unfortunately, it's not as easy as you think it is...
  2. So true. The best example showing how of crap their software is (depite being great scenery), is all that region switching PITA with FTX Central...
  3. Why not post on their support forum? They are very responsive and can certainly give you a better answer... http://fscaptain.proboards.com/
  4. Gerard's comment is not useless. You should ask the right people or just google. A 10 second search even gives you a price for a 777 "light" flightdeck... http://www.jetmax.ca/packages/jetmax-777sktq Asking questions in this community is absolutely no problem. But you should really put in at least a tiny bit of effort to find some answers to your questions alone instead of opening 10 threads a day here. Google is a wonderful tool...
  5. PCAviator (AU and US) often update their installers without updating the infos on the download page or product page. Even though they are really slow, they eventually get you the latest versions.
  6. Good to see that knowledgable simmers are on board and good to see someone who was sceptical now being convinced. There are way too much naysayers who haven't even tried P3Dv3. But they are getting less and less... ;-)
  7. I downloaded a new installer for the Lear from FSPilotshop which has an option to install into P3D v3. So yes, for the Lear there is an updated installer.
  8. Sorry, but it I think it is ridiculous that IVAO copied (I mean actually stole) liveries without permission (see post above) and then they strike Matt just for using this program on another ATC network. This is absolutely ridiculous. Like a software pirate who strikes someone else for using his stolen software...
  9. If you still have a P3Dv2 installation of KSEA you can simply copy the scenery directory to P3Dv3 and check whether there are any effects that need to be copied. Really easy. Works without problems here. Otherwise, if you don't have a P3Dv2 installation of it then it should work fine with the EMT.
  10. I don't have it as it only does things I can all do by myself (like creating fake directories, setting symbolic links and adding fake registry entries). However, from what I read it works fine. Definitely the way to go for the less tech-savvy simmer. Much better to spend that money than screwing up a working P3D installation by doing things manually if you don't know what you are doing.
  11. I just copied the sceneries from my old Prepar3dv2/Addon Sceneries folder to P3Dv3 and then added the entries to the scenery.cfg. Could be that some effects also have to be copied over (check in the Effects folder of the v2 installation if there is anything with the airport ICAO code in the filename or anything with T2G in the filename), I don't remember exactly. I don't have any lights issues. At least, I have not seen any. These two techniques should also work fine. Especially creating a registry entry for 2.5 that is pointing to the 3.0 folder is helpful for installing other sceneries which have no v3 installer yet. However, be aware that you also have to set a couple of symbolic links for it to work because otherwise installers cannot find cfg files. So this is only for the more advanced user I would say. And obviously this only works if you do not have a parallel v2.5 installation...
  12. A patch for the missing runway lighting in P3D has been issued a long time ago. No texture problems here. Must ne some kind of user error on your side. LTBA works without problems in P3Dv3.
  13. Better to stop the license discussion or otherwise you are begging for the thread to be shut down...
  14. KSEA and LTBA work fine in P3Dv3. Wouldn't expect much from them. They are not known for their superior service and updating of their products. The airports are superb nonetheless...
  15. That's what I did, too. Seems to work fine on most Orbx airports. However, I remember that CBB7 Tipella (which has never been updated to P3D v2) does not work this way. Most buildings are missing if you just delete the ObjectFlow file. But not seen any problems at other airports.
  16. Wow, that's interesting. Will check later on my system. If it really works then I guess I have to say sorry for the negative comment!
  17. There is the option to remove the info text but this certainly does not remove the watermark. Don't know where you did get this from...
  18. Thanks for the heads-up, Oliver! As Michael and Rob are on Prepar3d v3, I guess this again proves that P3D is much better in VAS management. And most likely performance. So taking all information together, it seems as if I really have to buy it... ;-)
  19. Yep. PFPX will suggest a SID and a STAR. So even though it will not export it into the flight plan which you can load as a company route, you still get the information to enter the SID and STAR manually. Make sure you check the route in PLAN mode on the Nav display in the flight deck to make sure the STAR is entered correctly and not to get a mess on arrival. But as Ray said, if weather changes during your flight then the STAR might not be the right STAR anymore... Weather subscription is not required for PFPX if you have a good weather engine. PFPX can read the weather from ASN and ASN has live weather for free. This also enables you to fly historic flights with historic weather and PFPX will get runways and SIDs and STARs right with the historic weather (more or less). A navdata subsription is usefull but also not necessary. The only important thing is that you buy one AIRAC and update all add-ons with this AIRAC so that all data is consistent (PFPX, Aerosoft Airbus, ...). Buying an AIRAC once a year is usually more than enough if you don't fly online and are more the casual tubeliner captain as you have described yourself above.
  20. My comment was not meant negative in any way. It's just that your system (which I would love to own myself) is so much above average that I have to take your performance reports with a bit of caution. My system (4770K@4.6Ghz + GTX780) is much weaker and I'm running the sim in NVidia Surround on three monitors. That usually means much worse performance than what you are getting... ;-) And congrats on the VRAM usage... ;-) Seems as if it is good to have a graphics card with at least 6 Gb of VRAM these days...
  21. Sounds promising. What worries me though is the fact that Oliver gets much worse performance... I know, it all depends on settings. And probably his 20% AI kills his frames. In the end, every system is different and the only way to find out is to try it on your own system. So maybe I just take the plunge and buy it... Let's see...
  22. Nice video. But it actually shows more what a killer PC you have than if DD New York is really usable on a "normal" system. Would love to see that fly-by of Manhattan in the NGX on a 4-core Haswell/Skylake overclocked + GTX780 or 970. That is more the type of significant benchmark. Nevertheless, thanks for posting! At least it shows that it is a very nice and usable scenery if you throw enough hardware at it. That didn't even help with v1 of the scenery as far as I understand. So definitely an improvement... PS: If I decide to buy the scenery, I will give some information on performance on a more "normal" system... ;-)
  23. I know that PFPX provides a suggestion (nothing more as ATC will give you the SID and STAR you have to fly) for an appropriate SID/STAR. But my answer was the answer to the question of the OP which planner exports flight plans including the SID and STAR. And this is something that PFPX does NOT do. And it doesn't do it for the reason I outlined above. Where is the point in flying a complex tubeliner and then cheating on something like SID and STAR input? Especially since entering the right SID and STAR in the FMC is just a matter of selecting the runway and then selecting the SID and STAR from a list. That's it. Not really much time to save if the planner would do that for you...
  24. No, it doesn't. And it's right that it doesn't, because in real life you get your SIDs and STARs from ATC and not from the dispatch office. Therefore SIDs and STARs have to be entered manually into the FMC.
  25. Yes. But you will run out of activations if you go back and forth often. That's what happened to me. They reset my activations but told me that ASN is supposed to be installed only on a single PC. If you want to use it on both machines on a regular basis, you need to buy an additional license. Not in my case. ASN over the network is perfectly stable and I get much less stutters on the flightsim PC. Definitely better here and well worth the effort.
