  1. On Facebook they have stated that Basel is 50% off with the code BASEL50.
  2. Wow. That screenshot is amazing!
  3. I also see a performance drop running the sim at 4K on my ancient GTX1070. Before the patch, I could use 80% render scaling + TAA and had 30fps in most scenarios (I'm on a 30 Hz TV so no need for more fps). After the patch, I have to turn down render scaling to 70% to get the same performance. BUT: The ground looks MUCH better than before. Most likely because TAA is now working correctly which it didn't before. That's were the performance drop comes from. But hey, there is no free lunch. And hopefully, I can get a grip on one of those RX6800XT GPUs soon...
  4. This is great news. I made a flight in the QW 787 in Prepar3D v4.5 just yesterday. The QW 787 has come a long way. It's a lot of fun to fly and complex enough for me to simulate normal operations. Looking forward to buy it for MSFS. Especially since the QW guys have proven that they understand the economics of pricing (compared to a lot of other FS developers).
  5. I second that. Even on my i7-10700K@5GHz together with a GTX1070 Prepar3d v4.5 is a lot of the times a stuttery mess. Even in situations in which neither the CPU nor the GPU is at 100% load and fps are over 30 (on a 30Hz monitor). MSFS on the other hand is buttery smooth as long as I can maintain 30fps on a 30Hz monitor. By the way: I'm running 4k resolution. MSFS can maintain 30fps even on my ancient GPU if I turn down the render scaling to 80%.
  6. That was EXACTLY what I thought when looking at that picture. This is million miles ahead of anything you can see in the other sims...
  7. As soon as I will receive the discount as a previous owner of the FSX/P3D version, I will also buy it. Also my first MSFS purchase. 😉
  8. When I hear all these claims about CTDs, my first thought is always „unstable overclock“. Way too many people use stuff like overclocking AI software without having a clue what they are doing. I haven‘t had a single CTD in MSFS.
  9. A new version of the installer is out: https://github.com/Externoak/A32NX-installer/releases/download/v0.3/A32NX_Downloader.zip Changes: - New method to check if current installed version is up to date. - Will now install correctly on WpSystem directory based installations. - People who's community folders were not being detected should now be detected.
  10. Found this over on Facebook: Maybe some of you are interested. Here is the link: https://github.com/Externoak/A32NX-installer/releases/download/0.1/A32NX_Downloader.zip
  11. Don't really understand your (negative) answer. My comment wasn't targeted in your direction. Didn't I say that sharing experiences is perfectly fine? It's those people that jump on these threads where people share their very nice experiences and try to tell everybody why MSFS (or other sims) is word not allowed. Those kinds of comments are annoying.
  12. When I see all these fights here on the forum over which sim is better or whether MSFS is ready yet and all that, I wonder why some people think there is a need to agree on something in the first place? Or why do some people always try to convince others of their opinion? Everybody should just use the sim that they like best. And if they like then they should share their experiences or opinions on this forum. Others should just accept those opinions and not jump on them. There is no need to agree on anything here. We don't have to share a platform or have only one central server which can only run one of the sims so that we have to agree which one that should be. Just enjoy whatever you like. Apparently, there are a lot of people who like MSFS and a lot who don't. That's fine. Especially, when there is a new kid on the block, that has always been the case (FS9->FSX, FSX->P3D, etc.). Just move on...
  13. Great news! Have fun with it! It will certainly make a huge difference to your current setup! I'm also very much looking forward to buying a new GPU once RDNA2 or the 20Gb 3080 are released.
  14. Simply impressive at what rate Asobo is pushing out the updates. Can't really understand all the naysayers...
  15. Nice shots, David! MSFS just looks stunning. I'm having a real hard time going back to P3D to fly tubeliners. It just looks so ugly compared to MSFS.
  16. The Aerosoft A320 was not better 1,5 month after release. One should be comparing apples to apples.
  17. I wouldn't question that. But Lufthansa has different SOPs than other airlines. And therefore I would be interested to hear from a Lufthansa A3XX pilot. There is one in the AVSIM forum who is part of the IXEG development team (@Janov). Maybe he can chime in.
  18. Yeah. But his profile says "retired 747-400 captain". And what airline? That doesn't help...
  19. Would be great to hear from an actual Lufthansa pilot on this. From what I have read, this also applies to the Airbus at Lufthansa.
  20. MSFS has so much to offer already that waiting a year for PMDG to arrive to the party is no problem for me. Just look at the default A320 with the FlyByWire mod. This one has come along so nicely after just 1,5 month. By christmas, this will be a nice airliner to fly (it is already ok). For us, waiting is less of a problem than for the developers. They are facing this attractive market and can't release their products. And who honestly is going to spend $150 for a new P3D plane from PMDG now that MSFS is most likely going to be the main sim platform in the years to come? Think about who should really be complaining.
  21. At Lufthansa it is forbidden to use A/T when the autopilot is turned off.
  22. I personally think that the 2 extra cores are not worth the higher price. In terms of clock speed, the 10900K usually clocks 100 or 200 MHz higher on overclocks than the 10700K. I had no luck with my silicon lottery on the 10700K but it still easily clocks to 5 GHz on reasonable voltages with an AIO cooling. I also get it stable on 5.1 GHz but temps get out of control. From what I read, most 10900K clock easily to 5.1 or even 5.2 GHz on liquid cooling. On the other hand, 100 extra MHz really doesn't make a difference. Just as the 2 cores. The 10700K is the better choice from a value perspective. As a recommendation, I would either go for the 10700K or wait to see what Zen3 has to offer... PS: Don't go for the 3090. It's absolutely not worth the price.
  23. Thanks for the heads-up. Looks very promising. Great times ahead if Asobo will enhance the entire world bit by bit. And that should also keep up the interest in the sim as new stuff will be released on a constant basis.
  24. Sorry to say, but what a funny thread. If some people here would listen to themselves, they would realize that they are talking as if this is software for a real airplane and if bugs don't get fixed then people will loose their lives. Most people here should really relax a bit. It's a game. And Asobo is sticking to its development plan instead of running around like a chicken without a head trying to hot fix minor problems. Just let them work, relax a bit and everything will be fine shortly...
  25. The results from Asus AI on my Strix Z490-E motherboard and CPU are total BS. Asus AI suggests VCore in excess of 1.5 volts to get to 5.0 GHz on my 10700K. However, I have it Prime stable at 5.0GHz@1.35 Volts and 5.1GHz@1.4Volts. The benefits from overclocking are limited anyways these days. So either learn how to do it properly or run the system at stock settings and just be happy. Certainly better than frying the CPU with 1.5 or more volts.
