May 23, 201412 yr Shalom and greetings all my pals, PADQ United States Coast Guard Air Station Kodiak located four nautical miles southwest of the central business district of Kodiak, Alaska is having fuel shortage crisis because of previous powerful snowstorm that cut off roads and shipping lanes to Kodiak meaning that Coast Guard has to call for emergency airlift of fuel so that their fleet of HH-60 Jayhawk and HH-65 Dolphin helicopters and the HC-130 Hercules can maintain crucial rescue operations. Presenting emergency fuel delivery from PAIE Eielson Air Force Base located approximately 26 miles southeast of Fairbanks, Alaska to PADQ Setting flaps Love the sunset Identification of the plane!!! Starting engines in -20 degree!!! Ready for taxi to runway 32 via taxiway G Drooling over sunset Taxiing on cargo apron toward taxiway G Excuse me if I am crazy about beautiful sunsets Entering into taxiway G for taxi to runway 32 Taxiing on taxiway G Holding short of runway 32 waiting for take off clearance yeahhh bitter cold with blowing snow while holding short of runway 32!! May 23, 201412 yr Aharon, As someone who is in the real world Coast Guard and having been stationed at Kodiak, I've gotta hand it to you! Those pictures are breath taking and reminded me about the beauty Kodiak had to offer. I recommend that if anyone ever gets the chance to visit Kodiak, do you I promise you will not regret it!
