Do any of you use Vox ATC while flying PMDG aircraft? I have never used an ATC program but want to add to realism. Would you recommend it? Is there a better program? Thanks guys

Instead of repeating the entire conversation that we've been having lately (just in a different subforum of the PMDG section), have a look here:

In my opinion VoxATC is very good. It's nice to be able to talk to the ATC rather then pressing buttons. The voices can sound a bit robotic as it uses TTS voices although you can download some a little bit more realistic. It controls you from gate to gate, including stopping you at runway crossings. It also allocates SIDS and STARS depending on your route and runway in use by use of the Level D AIRAC if you have it installed (although you don't need the aircraft, just the AIRAC). One of the main problems with other ATC programs is that they don't control AI traffic, however VoxATC is different in that the fact is that it populates FSX with it's own AI, using any aircraft in your FSX folder, so if it tells you to land you know that there is not another aircraft on the runway.

I think they do have a demo to download so you can give it a go.

Been using since last December. Great program and procedurally excellent. For a one time investment, I bought some AT&T and Ivona voice packs which all but eliminate the robotics.

One of the immersion killers for me is the way Vox handles AI. For example, Air India flying US domestic. Apart from that, it is very good.

Hey Julian, can't say I've noticed that. Is it something you have seen a lot?

Cabotage is real!

ha ha - but you're right.  You're really not going to see Air India flying domestic US.  I think some of the Mexican carriers used to.  A lot of the cargo carriers do.

Suppose I could repaint the Air India planes in FEDEX livery
