June 4, 201412 yr For 6 cores with HT off , i use AM 62 and this tip http://forum.avsim.net/topic/442239-another-affinity-cores-trick/#entry2994394 Today is the most beautiful day of my life...
June 5, 201412 yr Author i just try AM 4095 and seem to works fine. better and smoother then with HT on
June 5, 201412 yr i just try AM 4095 and seem to works fine. better and smoother then with HT on You should know and understand that 4095 = 111111111111 so it would be good for HT ON!!! With HT OFF 63 = 111111 would be the right equivalent. Luckily that this wrong AM is not hurting you. Have a look there http://www.gatwick-fsg.org.uk/affinitymask.aspx?SubMenuItem=hardware Spirit
June 6, 201411 yr Author Hi spirit thanks for the advice. do you will recommand FPS limiter unlimited
June 6, 201411 yr I use to run mine unlimited but did some research and I have my p3dv2 set at 30 FPS. Much smoother. Regards Lamar Wright
June 6, 201411 yr Hi spirit thanks for the advice. do you will recommand FPS limiter unlimited I always run my P3D v2 limited with P3D v2 setting. I don't use any external FPS limiter. My FPS is locked at 44 within P3D v2. Spirit PS: Reading this thread may give new ideas. http://www.prepar3d.com/forum-5/?mingleforumaction=viewtopic&t=7211
June 7, 201411 yr hi guys. i need to know whats the best for a i7 4930 6core . i just try OFF but not sure about it. and wich affinitymask you will suggest for HT OFF thanks Without a doubt, HT ON, AM value of 4094, though 4095 maybe will work as well. With either of these I recommend you open Task Manager and look at any other higher demand processes and deselect the 2nd virtual core so that those processes will not compete from attention from Core1 (the 2nd virtual core), but leaves the OS to allocate them to the other available 11 virtual cores. This has been, far and away, the best improvement I've found since installing P3D on my hexacore box. The value is in how well textures update. Right now I have almost 100% fully updated textures always, out to the full LOD, of which mine is set up for maximum LOD. I am able to overclock to the same level w/ only a tiny increase in voltage over HT off, but do need to be mindful of cooling. I have serious cooling available if needed, which is the case now during the hot weather w/ HT on. June 9, 201411 yr Commercial Member Yeah, I believe the prevailing wisdom at present is HT on for P3D. Also, if you're streaming or running any other semi-processor loading software then the answer is HT on. I run Affinity Mask at 84 on a 4770K, streaming, running Ailasoft EFB, Web Browser and even watching my own stream all at the same time and I'm not close to loading down the system. You're absolutely correct, each system and running software is different, so in the end you'll have to figure what's best for you. Take care.
