Screen blurry- 15'' or 17'' screen laptop ?

Good evening to all.

I purchased the PMDG T7 few months ago, but I found my screen somewhat blurry.  I have to zoom, then loose 1/2 of the screen. The indications are so small. Does the fact that I have a 15'' laptop matter ? Would a 17'' make a difference  or it is the graphic card ? Please let me know so I can consider or not getting a new laptop.

Thank you in advance.

Hi ndumbane,

Welcome to the forums.

The size of your laptop could be a factor, but the real factor is the screen resolution.  For example, I run FSX and the PMDG on a 15 inch laptop monitor, and it looks great.  However I have a great screen and the max resolution is 1920x1080. (An Asus ROG G53S...a little old but I've gotten some great milage out of her and tweaked to run FSX/PMDG 777 just fine...esp on a 2ghz core and 6gb of ram)

So its really a function of resolution and what the max your screen can display.  If can only do 1024x768, then yes the 777 instrument panel won't look good at all.

You could help us if you told us the exact make and model number of your laptop and/or the max screen resolution so we could recommend if you need a new laptop or just tweak the one you have.

Also, I believe the manual refers to making sure you have the line WideViewAspect=True in your fsx config.  If not, its a good setting to have in place as most hi-res textures nowadays are in a wide aspect ratio.

Steve,

It seems that I can only get this resolution - 1600 x 900- on this laptop, unless I am doing something wrong. Might be the issue.

Thanks

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I have the similar issue as you have. The difference is that I'm running a fairly new computer (i7-i4770K and a GTX 760) with a 24" monitor with resolution of 1900x1080. Unless I zoom in, it's difficult to read some of the digits on the screens, especially the MFD. This is true for pretty much all the addons I have. Is there any settings I have missed? I have used a guide written by NickN on another forum, both for setting up FSX and Nvidia Inspector.
