Thrust reversers and F1

Featured Replies

We all have used or using the default f1 reverser button you press down on it once and the 737 ngx reversers go all the way back to the full position without the need to press it 16x. Thats my issue i am having if i set the reversers other than the default f1, if i set it to something else i need to press that assigned button atleast 16x to have the reversers full. Anyone i agree and is there a way round it?

Vernon,

Are you sure about what the default F1 key does ?  AFAIK, this issues the THROTTLE_CUT command which simply puts the engines into idle thrust.  And again AFAIK, the default F2 key (THROTTLE_DECR) must be pressed repeatedly (or held down) to put the engines into full reverse thrust.  The only way that I can think of to put the engines into full reverse with one button or key press, would be through a bit of programming in FSUIPC or with a Lua plug-in that would execute the THROTTLE_DECR command multiple times.

Cheers,
Emile Bax.

Sorry F2 i mean't i just changed it to F1 my bad should of said.

Yeh i assign my saitek yoke to throttle declr and when i hold it down its not like f2 where it goes all the way back i have to repeatedly press it?

Vernon Howells

If you check in FSX settings where you set the new key, there's a slider called "Repeat" or something like that. Just slide that all the way to the right.

I have the F1/F2 combo set to a slider on my joystick. It makes thrust reversing feel a bit more normal like that, instead of pressing keys.

hi cristi i tried that repeat doesn't work? have to keep pressing it...

Vernon Howells

Where did you set that command? In FSX? FSUIPC? Saitek's software?

Cristi Neagu

Well.. i don't know what to tell you... I have F2 assigned to a zone of a slider in my Saitek software, and it works just fine. Try to redo all the assignments and try right clicking the assignment in Saitek's soft. Maybe you can find some option.

I have the same problem. But I have assigned a button on my throttle quadrant

Do I have to have the payware FSUIPC to have it work or is there another way?

Joakim Kostet

For me to get into reverse thrust, I have to press and hold F2.

You're saying you want to just press F2 once and have the engines go into full reverse thrust?

I have assigned a button on my saitek thottle quadrant, and I want full reverse thrust when I press that button
