VC Textures Upgrade?

Featured Replies

Hi, I wonder if there is by any chance some kind of unofficial upgrade for the textures, specially for the vc, but maybe also even for the wings or other parts. I really love this aircraft but I just cannot stand to look at the vc textures being so outdated, its almost as if its intended to be flown on the 2d since they look better, but I just think there must be a good upgrade for this somewhere.

I found the McPhat ones by the way, but they only worked the outside.

No. There will be no upgrade whether it be official or unofficial. This has been discussed is several threads hundreds of post long. Use the search feature of this and the PMDG General Forum to find the threads.

Yes I know that this is officialy discontinued but who knows about unofficial work, can't anybody with skills remake some textures? I wasn't asking for a full overhaul or upgrade, just the vc textures.

Did you read what I wrote? There will be no updates or upgrades either official or unofficial. PMDG will not allow it.

wow take it easy you seem to be a little rude, I didn't know they wouldn't allow it and you didn't post that to your reply.

MrVoyager, welcome to the PMDG forum.  First of all, you are required to display your full real name otherwise they will delete your post's here.

Secondly, as has been said, this question has been done to death on here and I myself started one years ago when they announced that the 744 v.2 would have enhanced cockpit views of the same value as the NGX.

One of the people that contributed showed some refinements that he had done and they was 'top notch' especially the overhead view.   Unfortunately for us, he wasn't given permission to offer them to us. It's probably in the ELUA somewhere and is copyright.

PMDG are unique with their designs and in my opinion, the best bar none in our hobby.

People that wanted a version 2 were all prepared to pay again for this service but PMDG say they lost money on the MD-11 and It's these losses that they won't risk again.

I hope you understand, errr what's your name? lol

p.s. please don't break your monitor by swatting my fly. lol

I would put them near the very top of the list, but I wouldn't say "bar none". There are some developers out there that are excellent at what they do and there are some that, um, could use some practice.
