June 14, 201411 yr Having just purchased the FS2Crew Button Version for the PMDG J4100 today, installed it but could not see the Configurator, so uninstalled it. I used IOBits uninstaller and in clearing out the Registry am not sure if I deleted something I should not have. So, from a salutation where I had FSX loading earlier before that FS2Crew install, now I get a crash with the ui.dll module being the culprit. Any ideas how to fix this without a complete FSX re-install? Rick Almeida
June 14, 201411 yr Try to reinstall the FS2Crew product again. If that does not work I would try a repair install before going to the ugly task of uninstalling/reinstalling everything. I have a feeling the FSCrew program added something to the J4100 aircraft.cfg and it can no longer find it. Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! June 14, 201411 yr Author Thanks, Jim. Will try and report back. EDIT: Just done a fresh re-install. No joy, same ui.dll error. And as I've been having Event Viewer issues which have not been resolved as yet, I cannot post an Event Viewer screen to post up the faulting scripts. Rick Almeida
June 14, 201411 yr No other suggestions Rick. Sorry! Best regards, Jim Young | AVSIM Online! - Simming's Premier Resource! June 14, 201411 yr Author No sweat, Jim. But how do I carry out an FSX Repair? Just loaded my Gold disk and it's not showing a Repair Option. I do not want to do a full clean re-install as I have far, far too much to lose. Rick Almeida
June 14, 201411 yr I don't own the Gold version so not familiar with it but 98% of the time, if your product is already installed on your computer, you will get an option to repair or remove the product. This is not just with FSX but any product. Normally, if only the install feature is shown, it means your product is not shown in the registry as installed so, if that happens, just try reinstalling it. June 15, 201411 yr Author Hi Jim. Thanks. Uninstalled using IObits Uninstaller. Am going to try a re-install. Rick Almeida
June 15, 201411 yr Author Is it any wonder that people find FSX so, so frustrating? Managed to do a Repair, ticked off the usual security permissions, then installed the newly-bought FS2Crew Button Version for the PMDG JS4100, after first checking that the default Trike loaded okay, followed all the FS2Crew instructions. Instead of seeing the panel of that PMDG JS4100, all I see is a black empty panel and FSX just shuts down. Glad I'm going to be away from this stupid 32-bit piece of Microsoft botch-up for a month. At least I will have my sanity! Rick Almeida
June 15, 201411 yr this stupid 32-bit piece of Microsoft botch-up Why blame Microsoft because you can't get third part addons to work? The best gift you can give your children is your time.
