FMC ground connections bug

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I'm experiencing a very strange bug after installing some Ryanair liveries from the AVSIM library. My ground power unit is connected to the plane, but all the options in Ground Connections are off. Likewise, if I fiddle with plane options inside the FMC setup screen, for example if I enable the SATCOM antenna, nothing happens. Another option toggles it. And the eyebrow windows option toggles the ground power unit. Any ideas? I'm confused. Loading different panel states do not seem to solve the issue either, and nor does a restart or a reboot. It happens on all liveries of the PMDG product now. I am using SP1c.

That seems strange. Did the liveries come with the usual ptp files?

Yes, I installed them using the Livery Manager.

Did you change the registration number in the FSX menus, or in the aircraft.cfg itself?

I haven't, no. I just installed them and launched NGX DEFAULT panel state. I noticed it after setting up the aircraft for departure, it could have been there longer.

Okay - I'll approach this from a different angle, then.

Try this:

Go into FSX > SimObjects > Aircraft > [Aircraft with your new RyanAir liveries] > Aircraft.cfg

Note the tail numbers that the liveries use in the Aircraft.cfg.

Next, go into FSX > PMDG > NGX Folder > Aircraft (or something like that - basically, find a folder that has a bunch of INI files with tail numbers on them in the PMDG folder)

Ensure that the tail numbers that you noted earlier in the Aircraft.cfg have matching INI files in this folder.  If they do not, copy one of the others, and name it with the tail numbers of the liveries in the INI file.

Interestingly, this is the second issue I've seen with a RyanAir livery in the past week that has caused issues...
