June 19, 201411 yr http://forum.avsim.net/topic/444629-micro-stutter-no-rhyme-no-reasonjust-plain-weird/ This seems to work for some, but not for me, but ai am going to give it a shot on FSX just to see if it has any effects whatsoever this evening. I can hear it now "Oh Geez, Another frickken tweak" Ah go ahead whatayougottalose. Bob Officially retired

June 19, 201411 yr What's the tweak? Enable all shadows? Fly at 18 FPS? Enabling cloud shadows does not work in FSX as there are no cloud shadows 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

June 19, 201411 yr Having read the entire thread, I don't see a consistent method in there. A couple people mentioned turning up settings, which I do in FSX if the frames are high and jumpy, just to give the computer more to chew on - lowering average fps but making things generally smoother (while giving better eye candy). But I wouldn't consider that a tweak, just a balancing act depending on system load. Ethan Edelson

Do you mean this? http://forum.avsim.net/topic/444629-micro-stutter-no-rhyme-no-reasonjust-plain-weird/#entry3012486 Other than that, I have a really hard time spotting tweaking info relevant to FSX (apart from the "enable all shadows" thing). 7950X3D + 7900 XT + 64 GB + Linux | 4800H + RTX2060 + 32 GB + Linux My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

Sorry everyone, I had been looking at a few threads on the p3d forum and pasted in the wrong link. The correct one is below http://forum.avsim.net/topic/443715-stutter-adaptive-vsync-could-offer-a-solution/ Bob Officially retired
June 19, 201411 yr Okay, thanks for double checking, that's definitely something I heard of before in FSX tweak talk. I think Word Not Allowed was big on this. Adaptive V Sync @ 30 with frames locked to 30. Heard of it helping smoothness for a few people. Never used it personally because I still see tearing with inspector set on adaptive. Ethan Edelson
June 19, 201411 yr Author Sorry folks for the wrong link in my original post. I know Word Not Allowed had posted a number of tweaks, but I did not remember this one. I did not think the Adaptive Vsync was available in the older drivers. Regards Bob Officially retired
June 20, 201411 yr You can set 1/2 refresh rate adaptive vsync in NI. With frames locked to 30 inside of fsx, this offers best solution in terms of smoothnes. For P3d's case, setting adaptive vsync in NI doesn't work, you need to use Nvidia Control panel.
