My best P3D v2.2 tweak?

You ran your GPU way too hot, that was the reason for your problems. There are many ways to control the heat and you chose one of them. I always try not to go over 70 degrees. I use EVGA precision X and control the temperature with this tool.

@Richard Sennett

Do you believe now that your bufferpools statement is only placebo in P3D v2?

@yorgosGK

Your increase of FPS may be the result of a better balanced system. The GPU is less demanding to your CPU. Now the CPU can provide better FPS.

Oftenly after clocking stuff down, lower latency tables for example for memory are used.

It is a known that FSX and P3D run slow because of the sheer amount of instructions thrown to the processors rather than the size of the instructions.

(lower latencies therefore might give more benefit than more mhz)

Also maybe because you clocked your GPU down it is not going through powermanagement as often and last but not least because it has been seriously warm the last couple days maybe the GPU is not being limited/clocked down by overheating protection.

Well I'll be damned...   I have spent months and MONTHS tweaking FSX with no good results and I have spent the last few days trying to get the best performance out of my new copy of Prepar3D.    My i7 3930k and GTX 770 OC II should be chewing up the frames with good slider settings but it's been crawling.   I tried pulling back the boost clock from the factory overclock setting and I'll be damn if my FPS didn't go from 24 FPS at KDFW (Huge highly detailed airport addon from FSDreamTeam) to 35 FPS.    I turned on AI traffic to 20% and I am getting 28-30 FPS at the gate with jets around me.   T_T  I am going to cry manly tears of joy now.
