July 19, 201411 yr Hello Pilots, So far I am amazed at the changes and added features in SP1/300ER, however my issue relates to the 300ER specifically. My issue is that I cannot edit the cruise altitude on the PERF INIT page. As shown in the following screenshots... I get an INVALID ENTRY message when trying to put 330 into the cruise altitude The following screenshots show that there is no information on the legs page and as a result I can not engage VNAV. Thank you in advance for your help,
July 19, 201411 yr Have you tried changing the altitude from the vnav page? Where you see crz altitude you should try and change it from there. Kassim salim
July 19, 201411 yr Author Have you tried changing the altitude from the vnav page? Where you see crz altitude you should try and change it from there. Thanks for you response, Yes I am able to change the cruise altitude on the VNAV page without a problem but still not able to engage VNAV.
July 20, 201411 yr FL330 is higher than your maximum altitude at this weight as shown in your second picture Maximum possible altitude is FL316. You may have some luck modifying your cruize altitude to FL310, but not FL320 or higher. Reduce your fuel or ZFW load to get higher than FL310. The FMC will not accept an altitude that will result in high altitude stall. July 20, 201411 yr Author Thank you for your reply, I understand what you mean. I'm able to enter any cruise altitude on the VNAV page. However I am not able to edit the altitude on the Perf Init page which I believe is causing my main problem of not being able to engage VNAV.

July 20, 201411 yr Author If you are trying to change cruise altitude in the air in PERF INIT it is NOT allowed. Thank you for your response, Usually I don't change the cruise altitude on the Perf Init page but I tried changing it this time so the FMC can recalculate the performance data which should allow me to reengage VNAV.
July 20, 201411 yr Author Thanks for your help guys I found the problem and it was a one off. What happened was the flight plan I downloaded off SimBrief had planned step climbs in them, which caused the winds data not being able to uplinked in the FMC. After identifying this problem I unticked "plan step climbs" in SimBrief and put the new flight plan into the FMC which allowed me to get the winds data. After this occurred I was not able to engage VNAV because the FMC did not recalculate the performance data based on the new flight plan. Lesson learnt for next time Thanks for your help, problem solved.
July 25, 201411 yr that happened to me as well when entering anew route while cruising "enroute" vnav data get lost and you cant get the fmc to recalculate them I have been asking every ehere about this problem and it seems no one knows how to fix it
September 4, 201411 yr I everybody, I am experiencing the same problem but I cannot find how to sort it out. Could you explane better what to do and what not to do? Thanks Regards Lorenzo Chiovaro
September 4, 201411 yr Commercial Member I am experiencing the same problem but I cannot find how to sort it out. Could you explane better what to do and what not to do? It's already explained in post number 8. I could re-type it for you, or you could've just read what's already there: What happened was the flight plan I downloaded off SimBrief had planned step climbs in them, which caused the winds data not being able to uplinked in the FMC.After identifying this problem I unticked "plan step climbs" in SimBrief and put the new flight plan into the FMC which allowed me to get the winds data. September 4, 201411 yr Thank you Kyle but I am getting the same problem even if my wind uplink is done correctly at the first attempt. Maybe the one I am experiencing is a "new" king of this problem? Lorenzo Chiovaro
