Landing lights won't illuminate ground

Featured Replies

Could be my error. Just returned my Spotlight.bmp in the main textures directory to the default, and that fixed the same problem I had with the MD11. May have also fixed the 777, but haven't tested yet.

Hello!!

I got solved this problem, on PMDG 777

Go to FSX Setting -> Graphics -> Check "Advanced Animations" is on!!

For me it worked.

I am having a problem with the lighting of the runway in 2D cockpit view. Lighting works fine in VC and External views. Splashes in daylight setting is enabled. FSX illumination checkbox is active. Active Sky Weather software uninstalled. Spotlight.bmp is present in FSX and I took ownership. Special Effects Detail checkbox is active. I'm at a loss. Any suggestions?

Pay attention to Pete's comments 12 posts up, if you haven't already.

There is a known bug in REX that is often responsible. Selecting the option in REX that Pete suggests often does the trick.

My spotlight.bmp MD11 solution was not a solution for the 777.

It looks like PMDG have removed the splash effect from the model.  So there simply is no landing or taxi lights available for the 2d panel view.

Obviously, I'd like them to add them in, at least as an option for 2d panel users like me.

Bryn.
