July 20, 201411 yr Virtual cockpit views and exterior views are all ok, but when I come into cockpit view (the view where there should be a 2D Panel but PMDG did not design it), I cannot see the landing lights or taxi lights illuminate the ground ahead. This is what I found after installing SP1, and 300ER too. Is there any fix about this? Thanks. Ken

Although, before I consider it a 'problem' I'm going to read the Intro manual one more time to see if it was removed for a specific reason. August 2, 201411 yr Are you all using rexe at all since if you go in the option under sun/lighting under landing lights choose" use for real air" option or the extreme one I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
August 2, 201411 yr I am using the PMDG 777-200/300. There isn't a category "sun/lighting". There is however, a category under options to assign a keyboard key for each of the light through FSX. But, I did not assign one to any of them since the aircraft lights up in VC mode and Exterior mode. It's when I'm in the 2D cockpit that I don't see them anymore. August 3, 201411 yr Similar problem here, only see the lights in pitch black and then very weak. -Iain Watson-
August 3, 201411 yr Hey Guys, I had the same problem, but try to go into the simulator options and turn on "splashes appear in daylight" and any other lighting options. Then it should work.
August 4, 201411 yr There is also a basic FSX setting......something like "landing lights illuminate the ground".... maybe you need to check that? Rob Robson

August 5, 201411 yr 2.3 Missing File POSTED BY STEVEFSX ⋅ JUNE 26, 2014⋅ 22 COMMENTS Maybe this frome Steves site regarding DX10 Fixer 2.3? Unfortunately, the 2.3 FSS release of DX10 Scenery Fixer is missing a configuration file. This causes issues with some lights such as landing lights To correct this download the file DX10Product.ini using this link https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nnfapxeln8d8wbq/AADXn1vA5S7jO5B0fkUaSCh2a Uninstall the libraries using DX10Controller Then copy the downloaded file to C:\Program Data\DX10Scenery Fixe Install the libraries using DX10 Controller. August 17, 201411 yr Hi all Sorry to dig up this post, but I still cannot see the landing lights or taxi lights illuminate the ground ahead. 777-200 and sp1 Any suggestions ? Thanks
August 18, 201411 yr I'm also keen for a solution here. I fly the 777 using a 2d panel, but the landing lights don't work using 2d. I use 2d because: 1: the VC viewpoint bug means the view moves too much on long-body aircraft, especially near the equator, so the panel doesn't stay in a fixed position; 2: the VC mouse cursor bug affects performance too much right when I need it; 3: the 2d gauges are clearer, larger, and easier to read; 4: the 2d gauges are easier to manipulate (the cursor doesn't 'slide' off buttons); 5: I can cover my screen in panels that I want to see (Aerowinx PSX style); 6: fixed panel positions are consistent with normal desktop training sims; 7: I'm only interested in flying the well-designed systems, not the VC or aircraft model itself (again, think Aerowinx PSX). I wish PMDG would reconsider a 2d overhead and main panel for those reasons, but just putting landing lights back in the model would be great... Bryn. Streaming at twitch.tv/brynmwr
August 18, 201411 yr Hi all Sorry to dig up this post, but I still cannot see the landing lights or taxi lights illuminate the ground ahead. 777-200 and sp1 Any suggestions ? Thanks That means you have tried everything above? And you have no other addons that could be intefering with the lights? (maybe you can list the addons you are using) Also, to see approach lights for example it has to be dark. What local time are you flying? Do you see from outside that the lights are on? So it is just that the rwy does not seem illuminated? I'm also keen for a solution here. I fly the 777 using a 2d panel, but the landing lights don't work using 2d. totally agree with all your arguments for using 2D, excpet that the landing lights do not work when you use 2D popup panels. No problems here. I use the VC on a 46" TV and 2D popups on two 24" monitors. (PFD,ND,EICAS,ECL (lower center display), FMC and MCP) Rob Robson
August 18, 201411 yr "Splashes appear in daylight" checked Thanks, Jordan, it worked for me. Best. Miquel Egea.
