July 20, 201411 yr Howdy folks! On one end I am happy to report that I am not experiencing a lot of the issues being reported so far on SP1. My weather radar works fine, flight dynamics are very good, no major issues to report, amd the installs of both, SP1 and the 777-300 went without a hitch. On the other hand however, the VC has become a bona fide dawg with FPS. Pre SP1 my 777-200 cockpit was yielding 24+ fps on almost every situation. Post SP1 I cant break 12 with either the 200lr or the 300. Anyone seeing the same? Dennis Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5. July 20, 201411 yr Gotta say I am very happy with the SP1. It installed with a breeze and loaded up, just a slight problem with the weather radar, which I found to be a problem with one version of FSUIPC, an update cured that. With regards to frames, I'm sorry to say that I haven't seen a problem, if anything it seems to have gained a frame or two, which I'm surprised about. I thought it would be worse with the addition of the weather radar.

Dennis Hi Dennis, The only thing I could suggest is to back up your fsx.cfg and rebuild with a new one and see if that does the trick. July 20, 201411 yr I don't have this issue at all. If anything, I've seen a performance INCREASE of about 5 FPS, which is a lot for this kind of aircraft. Hope it gets fixed, I'll keep on the look out for anything to help you. Regards, Jeremy Chesney
July 20, 201411 yr Yes, I've got to say that I am seeing a few extra frames with SP1 and the 300ER. There's got to be something more to look at with your setup. Some good suggestions so far though. Hirdy
July 21, 201411 yr Hi Dennis, Don't think your alone. There are a few threads on this. I too found my performance slightly lower that before. Its minimal but whereas I used to have a steady 30 fps I now find both the 200 and 300 give low 20's. Some are reporting performance increase and in my exp this would normally show its a setup or setting issue. It's just finding which setting. There is also mention that a full reinstall may help. I'd be happy to pay $5 to get the full installer but maybe PMDG should allow free download if this does fix the problem. I was wondering did you tinker with the FMC options prior to testing. I think I might have jumped straight in and changed some settings which might make a difference. If your one of the lucky ones with performance increase did you change any settings in the FMC or is it default settings? As usual with this hobby more investigation needed. Been doing this for many years. All part of the fun I guess. To PMDG as already stated the new features are just awesome. That ding dong in the datalink always gives me a little grin. Darren Toogood
July 21, 201411 yr Hi everyone, I also found a rather surprising increase in performance! It is smoother now than it was. To answer Darren's question, all I did was to tinker with the settings in the supplement to incorporate the data uplink and weather features. Nothing else. Hope you guys get it sorted. July 21, 201411 yr Author Hello Gang! Just an update here! I followed the advice of re-creating the FSX.cfg file but that made things a little worse. I reinstated my old FSX.cfg and after a couple of tries with different things I realized that not loading FSX with Shade actually helped things quite a bit. In fact, not loading with Shade and using FSX Fiber Accelerator actually improved things tremendously. I'm currently running more tests but that seems to be the silver bullet for me with this issue. Hope this helps! Dennis Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Memory: 128GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5600 CL-40. July 21, 201411 yr Not sure what this means. July 21, 201411 yr Author Hey Bob! Shade is a small program that allows you to setup custom colours/tones schemes for FSX's 3d/Terrain lighting/shadow & Fog values this allows you to alter the contrast between light and shadow tones within FSX allowing for creation of more realistic lighting conditions with much better definition/contrast. It was working "miracles" with the way things look in FSX but after the SP1 and the 300ER expansion installation, the new combination in my system does not seem to like Shade too much. Hope this helps! Dennis Sincerely, Dennis D. Müllert System Specs: MoBo: MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi ATX AM5. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Memory: 128GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5600 CL-40. July 21, 201411 yr Thanks for the explanation. I was thinking it was some obscure FSX.cfg setting. Always have to be careful with such addons for FSX unfortunately. Everything is a compromise with memory and visual effects. Regards,Bob Quick
