Some Advice From You, Chaps?

Thanks for the tips on the TwOtter, guys.

I think you'll be very happy with it.  It doesn't have the system side sophistication of a PMDG product, but for short hops (i mostly fly from Stornoway to Oban) it is a fantastic aircraft.  It's very forgiving, capable of insanely short take offs and will stop on a dime.

I had been watching a couple vids of the Twin Otter. Small cockpit, no? Looks very friendly aircraft but dude..what about those looong after engine start checklists and tests? Anyway seems as a good option. Thanks for the advice, Ian.

Guys, any help with this?

Looks like you need to run makerwys.exe (latest version on schiratti.com).

As for the Extended Twotter, you can configure the plane for a different flight phase like takeoff by a single mouse click (if you want to skip those nasty flows and checklists) - yes, I'm happy to be able to post this in the PMDG forum!!!   :P

Small cockpit, no?

Yeah small and basic, proper flying!

Ignore them.  You can have the aircraft up and flying around in less than 5 minutes, no APU, ground cart not needed.  Simply battery on, DC power on, lights as required, avionics on, fuel pumps on, start engine right wait 5 seconds prop and fuel on, same procedure left engine, bleed air on, generators on and off you go.

I very much enjoy the J41, it's a fantastic add on well worth getting, you would be very happy with it; but it does require some study, the engines are VERY sensitive and it's a complex mini airliner with all the equipment that entails.

I would say that the Q400 is probably easier to fly than the J41.

The other option is the Turbine Duke, I don't have this aircraft but have only heard good things about it.

It doesn't matter which of these aircraft you eventually decide to get you'll be very happy.

Thanks a bunch, Ian & Kyle. This august I'll fly nice VFR's with either Duke or Twin. Will let you know how it works, guys  :good:
