aerosoft airports night lightning solved under 2.3 ?

Featured Replies

Dear All,

Has someone tested if the aerosoft airports (such as LFMN, LSZH, LOWI etc..) have function night lights under 2.3 ?

Thanks a lot.

Karim

No. Unfortunately, it's not. I read somewhere that all the Aerosoft airports have highly "customized" lighting solutions that LM cannot fix a single thing to make them work. However on

you can download a workaround which replaces the customized lighting with the default lighting so that it works.

Some work and some have issues. The night lighting environment add-on performs much better now thanks to some batching optimizations we made for 2.3. The runway lights you are asking about most likely still have sorting issues. The old ASM scenery scripting doesn't translate well to modern rendering architectures, and while it worked in FSX, it hasn't been an official part of the SDK since FS9. We did our best to get as much of it working as possible, but got to a point where we basically couldn't fix one add-on without breaking another. We are focusing on the officially supported features and new feature development. We have a sticky post over in the scenery development forum with more information about this.

Ugh, I found it- but you have to sign up to get access to the files... for whatever reason that is. Unfortunately, there's no place to sign up- only to the forums, which doesn't grant access to the needed files.

Thanks Gordon! It's a great site, but they could certainly use a design consultant!
