August 12, 201411 yr I can find an expensive Garmin 450 Tutorial designed for real life flying. And I can find YouTube video tutorials but they move too quickly for me (at age 83). I'm wondering if there are text tutorials that would give me the basics of how to navigate? Cliff Cliff Harris
August 12, 201411 yr Cliff, what GPS are you after? The Garmin 450 is a handheld unit for hiking (I own one..) Are you looking for something like this: www.justiceaviation.com/uploads/gns430.pdf or http://www.pilotinsights.com/tutorials/Garmin-430-530 or http://www.aopa.org/asf/online_courses/gps/ Bert
August 12, 201411 yr Author Mea culpa Bert! I meant the 530 and NOT the 450. Thanks for these three links. Number two seems to be just what I need. Well done........ Regards..........Cliff (In sunny, sunny Spain) Cliff Harris
August 13, 201411 yr Commercial Member For the simulated GNS430/540, Garmin's quick reference is sufficient: 430: http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/190-00356-01_0H_Web.pdf 530: http://static.garmincdn.com/pumac/GNS530_QuickReferenceGuide.pdf Other documents often refer to functions not available in the simulated GNS.
