Question and/or Program Idea

Hi all,

Is there a tool available which would automatically place static aircraft on the ramp of whatever airport I'm flying near without the need for enabling air traffic at a high level?

I use myTrafficX 5.4 currently, with all default traffic removed. My traffic settings are currently 21% for both GA and commercial planes, and the boat stuff is at 4% and cars are at 0%. This combination gives me a solid 24fps almost everywhere in CONUS where I fly, with the use of Fiber Accelerator. I have some planes in the sky to keep me company, and a few on the ground. But I would like to see the ramp have more parked planes (mid- to low-complexity models for ambiance is all I desire) and a tool to do that would be nice without me having to edit each airport to add them. This would be very time consuming but is one method  and may be what I end up doing. I don't fly regular routes so there's an awful lot of airports to edit.

Thanks for any consideration of my question.

I've thought about doing something up like this before, but it's not without problems.

The ways I thought about doing it were either to automate the creation of.bgl files so as to fill parking spots with static objects (planes), or to have a program running alongside FSX that would inject AI with a flight plan that ensured that they'd be there when you were near.  Both methods had serious issues though: the first would not be compatible with AI in any form and would require a method of reading the precise location of the parking spots, and while the latter would not have any of the previous issues, it would also be using more resource hungry AI models.

There's solutions to everything, but the amount of time it would take me... I'd rather be flying. ^_^

Thanks for the reply. What you say makes sense. So I guess I will be making some .bgl files to see what it takes but I will probably give up on it pretty quickly.

Hi all,

Ideal Flight 10 does this and is the main reason I bought it.

Edit: Reread and you said 'near'. I know IF10 will do departure and destination parked planes but not sure about it putting parked planes at enroute or near airports. That's asking a bit much IMO.

Flying in Orbx Regions will give you a reasonable selection of nice airplanes at most airports..
