Aerosoft Mega Airport Frankfurt EDDF scenery and ILS Changes ?

Featured Replies

Gentlemen,

It appears Frankfurt Main EDDF changed some of its ILS frequencies.  I am flying PMDG aircraft with up to date ILS.  However, these are not recognized

by the Aerosoft Mega Frankfurt airport scenery.

Does anyone know how to get aroud this problem?

Thanks.

Stanner

i think you should install Updated Magvar data, then update your navaid and fixes  data: http://www.aero.sors.fr/navaids.html

If problem persist, use ILS inspector and change it manually. All instructions are available at website.

navaid and fixes should be updated every time you update your AIRAC - navigraph or aerosoft

There are certain properties of navaids on an airport stock or add-on scenery that can be modified. ILS frequencies is one.

I only have the old German Airports EDDF. Its afcad file does not have any navaids in its list. It may defer to stock navaids. I tried other .bgl files but no luck. So as an example, using ADE which is safer than afcad221 for editing stock and add-ons,   here is the default EDDF navaid list and one of the ILSs chosen from that list:

You can see the ILS frequency box is white and editable. If you wish you can match current charts here. The best way to save these changes is to save the airport as a project. That allows better re-editing if needed. Then when satisfied you can compile the project to a .bgl file, place it in the add-on airport scenery folder, and rename the afcad type .bgl file in there name.bgx to make it ineffective assuming you new bgl has everything the old one did.

The FS9 navaids package only updates ILS frequencies in western Europe according to that site.

I did not look at ILS Inspector.

Careful with updating the FS9 magvar.dll magnetic variation database. It can cause deviations in some aircraft nav instrumentation operation. Once case was the display of the flight path in the PMDG B737NG navigation displays. At one point that was a pinned topic on their forum here. It caused also off-center ILS landings.

I did use that site's FIX updates for FS9. I renamed their WorldINT.bgl to NVWorldInt.bgl to get it working with the Plan-G version 3 freeware flight planner per request of another user. That planner needed the file name starting with NV and then it worked.
