JS41 wouldn't turn after disconnecting autopilot?

Featured Replies

So is there some special button that makes the aircraft able to turn after you've flown with the autopilot on? I've disengaged everything, and the only thing I was allowed to do was raise and lower the yoke. Did I forget something?

Is the problem repeatable?

Dunno, I've only made a couple of flights, I'm still learning how to fly this thing.

"JS41 wouldn't turn after disconnecting autopilot"

What did you do to disconnect the A/P?

Maybe try another flight and do a close up screenshot of your selections on the panel when all is ok.

Then, the same screenshots when it is not working.

Sorry I forgot, and couldn't figure out how to edit the post...  Anyway I hit z figuring that would be enough, then realized that the altitude hold and heading were still active on the AP pannel. So I turned those off and still couldn't do anything as far as turning the aircraft.

Is the gust lock engaged?

My PC: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW, i7 6700k OC'd to 4.6, ASUS Rog Maximus VIII Hero Mobo, 16GB DDR4 3200 RAM, 2 Intel 750 Series SSDs, Creative Sound Blaster Z.

HDG and ALT would remain active to drive the flight director. If the AP master switch on the pedestal is not lit green then the AP is not flying the aircraft.

I think it might be gust lock? Where is that?

Patrick Boynton

The gust lock lever is located by the First Officers left knee, push it downwards to deactivate. The lever cannot be seen from the Captain's seat if it is set to the off position.

Here is a picture of the Gust Lock from the PMDG JS4100 manual.
