August 23, 201411 yr Carlos, Did you install the new beta for ASN that works with P3Dv2.3? Downloaded the "trial" version, don't really know if this is the 2.3 beta....thx for the heads up Mike, will check. Edit: I just checked their site and the only one I see is the 2.2 open beta which is the one I downloaded, I sort of new it may not work since download link clearly states 2.2, but I wanted to give it a try....You mind sharing a link to the 2.3 beta Mike? thx Windows 11 - Samsung 990 Pro M.2 | Asus Prime Z690 | i7 12700KF HT | DeepCool LS520 SE | MSI 5070 Ti Ventus OC | 64GB G.Skill XMP II | Lian Li 216 LANCOOL RGB | TrackIr v5 | Honeycomb Alfa - Bravo - Charlie | MSFS 2024 - Samsung 990 Pro M.2 | Curved 27" MSI | JBL Quantum 810
August 23, 201411 yr I'm not Mike but you have to download the 2.3 beta from the forum: http://www.hifitechinc.com/forums/showthread.php?3502-ASN-SP1-OPEN-BETA-now-available!-FSX-and-P3D I bought ASN this morning: I didn't download the version from the shop but only this beta, installed it, entered the license key and I was good to go.
August 23, 201411 yr I posted on REX forums the same question you asked me. When it came out. The reply was the weather report is used by us to set the right clouds and sky colours to match the weather report, all the rest ( it generates a full theme) is random, but not the clouds or sky themes. That's way I said set it up after your first theme to only load clouds and sky, I read some were that REX are still working on water for 2.3 so I never installed any new water into 2.3, in fsx yes a have a perfect set just like you described. I just installed all of Orbx UK and installed a full theme it installed in 0.1 of a second, not joking. David Murden. August 23, 201411 yr Ah, ok, I understand. However, in the meantime I already found out this option is of no use to me because I always use historical weather. This option in REX 4 only loads current weather... so I will never ever get clouds and skies that supposedly fit with my historic weather. So if I am going to buy REX 4 it will only be for the clouds, maybe skies and a more subtle, more calm wave animation (if available). And well, the HDE clouds are fine with me (don't know if REX clouds will perform any better), the skies are fine with me too (though maybe some variation would be nice) which only leaves the wave animation (of which I will probably only use one) and 25 bucks for one wave animation... I'll have to think about it some more... ^_^ BTW To the OP: sorry for taking over this topic with my off-topic REX talk...
August 23, 201411 yr I don't know when the next Active Sky texture add on will be available, but you may want to wait for that if it will autoload textures appropriate for historical weather selected in ASN. On the other hand, I've seen AS2012 loading texture sets and it was so excruciatingly slow that it's not a feature I would ever have used. REX4 blew me away on how fast it swaps textures, replacing the full set in only couple of seconds.
