How can I change the little red tags above AI planes?

Featured Replies

In FS9 I had a neat setup that showed for every AI plane the following:

1. ui_manufacturer, ui_aircraft type ("Boeing 747-400")

2. Callsign, flightnumber ("LUFTHANSA 400")

3. Departure, destination ("EDDF-KJFK")

Now that I have FSX I get things like the aircraft type ("Aardvark").

How can I change that and show what I had in FS9?

Thanks

Open your fsx.cfg file (edit it) and find:

[AContain]
ShowLabels=0
ShowUserLabel=0
ShowLabelManufacturer=1
ShowLabelModel=1
ShowLabelTailNumber=0
ShowLabelDistance=1
ShowLabelAltitude=1
ShowLabelAirline=1
ShowLabelAirlineAndFlightNumber=0
ShowLabelFlightPlan=1
ShowLabelContainerId=0
ShowLabelAirspeed=1
ShowLabelHeading=0
LabelDelay=1000
LabelColor=FFFF0000

You can even change label color, FFFFFFFF is for white for example.

Thanks!

Ahh the easy way is to start FSX, go to SETTINGS-CUSTOMIZE-TRAFFIC and turn on the ones you want  :unsure:

That doesn't give you all the options though (like flightplan)

I'll be darned, I never even noticed they were an option! Learn something new every day  :-)

Do they actually work since there is no checkbox in settings for them or are they just something MS forgot to remove?

Pretty cool, huh? This is one of my favorite features with AI. It's very interesting to see where everyone is going.

And it does work, just change the setting in the fsx.cfg file from =0 to =1. Not sure why it's not included in the checkboxes.
