Building disappeared with PMDG 777-300ER

Before saying anything bad about the tweak for me it fixed alot of scenery errors such as airport buildings disappearing after a long flight so it DOES make sense!

That might be the Highmemfix=1 line doing that.

Because Highmemfix=1 is not a tweak but a fix.

Have you tried without that Stale_Buffer line (but with Highmemfix=1)?

If not, try it, and I bet things will work just fine ;-)

Also, would you mind pointing me to a thread where this Stale_Buffer thing is discovered or at least discussed?

I allways like to read up about things first hand.

Thx

I just googled it  and came up with it :P

Ah ok, thx Peter, but that was the same link as posted before in this thread.

But even the discoverer of that Stale_Buffer line confirms what I already said.......it is a magical tweak that does nothing :-)

Most likely, HIGMEMFIX is what fixed Orcuns problems!

Oops didn't see that :(  anyway most likely that tweak or so called tweak  is added by using  the Bojote tweaking  and tuning tool

FSDT COUATL engine, removed it, even though I had LSZH installed, seem to cause more problems then its worth.

Thank you for the advice. I will give it a try although I think there will be some impact on FSDT GSX. I am looking forward to their GSX cargo edition they announced recently... B)

Theres a freeware version of OERK by Fsnabisso, great scenery...Inline with the Payware Armi Project Scenery I think. PM I will zip it and send if you want, as it may not be readily available.

Thanks for the information and for the offer. The Armi project's OERK is available here:

http://secure.simmarket.com/armi-project-oerk-king-khalid-fsx.phtml

In case of payware I prefer to support the originators of software through buying their stuff; if OERK is available as freeware I might give it a try. Fsnabisso seems to be on AVSIM library. I anyway just wanted to look there for EDDP (Leipzig/Germany, DHL and Aero Logic hub) as this airport has changed quite a bit in the meantime...

Up to date I only use the FSX standard scenery airports out of several reasons:

1. this way every airport is of the same (LoFi) quality, so that there is no reason for me to prefer the HQ airports which makes it much more fun to go "anywhere"...

2. as a follow up of 1. I would have to buy lots and lots of airport add ons as I really like to go to different places most of the times. If I would have 24/7 of time to enjoy FS I would probably even do that...

3. For the time being I still have a 2010 laptop which is nevertheless able to run FSX+ASN+EZDOK+GSX+UT2+UTX+GEX+FTX-GLBL&VEC+PMDG-T7-SP1B+RCv4+FSPS-FA+TrackIRv5+Nvidia3D-Vision2 (I think that's all) at the same time. But that is only possible by running the settings between 50 to 75%, e.g. scenery complexity=dense. For these beautiful airport add ons to look best a setting of at least "very dense" would be mandatory which now turns my FSX experience more into a slide show...

But actually for this year I had planned to invest in a new (gaming) laptop with all the latest stuff to run P3D in combination with Oculus Rift. Probably this will bring me also good frame rates at heavy airport sceneries with all the buildings "and stuff"!

BTW: here is cargo apron C (parking 22 cargo in fsx) of Armi project's OERK

http://secure.simmarket.com/images/products/8/8e/6775/95060_image003.jpg

EDIT: obviously this link/picture just went missing. It is also missing on the actual product site mentioned above...

As I very much like to fly the spectacular PMDG T7F - while cargo aprons in general are "underexposed" in FSX - the use of add on airports with cargo hubs in combination with an FSDT GSX cargo edition will be quite fascinating...

HIGHMEMFIX was one thing and STALE_BUFFER the other. Scenery errors didn't appear at first, but after a long flight it may happen that buildings dissappear, by them combined together it never happened for me again. It was seldom yes, but it still could occur and that was reason enough for me to put this tweak in. STALE_BUFFER_THRESHOLD=2147483647 sets a limit, which is set very high so it will not be reached. FSX itself also has one, but it's not set high enough so if it reaches it, you'll get scenery errors that's why you set it up higher like the one provided and your good to go. I thought I'll just put it in aswell because he has this issues.

By the way, FSlabs Texture Fix Utility also uses that tweak and I've tried both ways, with and without STALE_BUFFER but only them together really fixed it for me. Teach me if im wrong, I'm always glad to learn something new.

I had to remove COUATL engine, if you have FSDT sceneries or addons, please do not or they may stop working. It wasn't advice, more I didnt want to invest a lot of time to fix a problem for myself. If you have FSDT products please seek support from them, do not randomly remove files.

do not randomly remove files.

Don't worry. I would simply turn on/off couatl "testwise" in the fsx exe.xml by setting it temporarily to <Disabled>True</Disabled>.

But I am pretty sure GSX even wouldn't show up anymore...
