September 17, 201411 yr Commercial Member Its still happening but if i disable it, it works fine guys? Exactly as I thought, and mentioned a couple times already in this thread. The more accurate representation of what's going on can be described by hardware "spikes." As opposed to what I was saying earlier, the software isn't paying attention to the constant stream of information. It only pays attention when that information changes. That being said, you could have the spoilers at 25% on your hardware, stow them in the sim (either using the mouse, or hitting '/' a few times) and they would stay there. ...until the hardware spikes, or sends a value anything other than 25%. At that point, the sim sees the change and defers to the hardware position again. You'd see the same thing if you hit T/D. The sim will pull the throttle back as part of your normal throttle modes. It will remain at idle until the hardware spikes, and then it will go right up to the forward stops (because that's where most users leave their throttles after takeoff)...there goes your descent. TL;DR: Any time you see issues that disappear when you disconnect your hardware: it's the hardware. Kyle Rodgers
September 17, 201411 yr Author Hi, i already know you mentioned it buddy but was just waiting till it happened again and report back! So what can i do about this then? Appears to be no solution Vernon Howells
September 17, 201411 yr Hey buddy ever thought that your hard ware could be faulty, which you could get it fixed or replace it since you already tried all the other solutions given to you ie changing the key assigments etc I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
September 17, 201411 yr Author This could be faulty hardware? Its not even that old. I'll just arm them manually by clicking on it, suppose that will give it more realism Prob best to replace it as i have stuck on 737 throttle levers, flaps and spoliers kinda glued them on lol Vernon Howells
September 17, 201411 yr Commercial Member So what can i do about this then? Appears to be no solution Remove the hardware axis assignment. I said it in post #4. The alternative is to buy better hardware that is more precise / produces fewer spikes. This could be faulty hardware? Its not even that old. New doesn't mean it's less prone to faults, or poor manufacturing processes. Kyle Rodgers
September 17, 201411 yr Author I'm looking at new stuff from go flight. Anyone recommend any good hardware? Don't think its the axis assignment for my spoiler lever its the button under it? Or is that the axis assignment, just not sure! Vernon Howells
September 18, 201411 yr Before you go and purchase another one, have you got any other issues with other payware aircraft or is it only the ngx you have issues with? September 18, 201411 yr Commercial Member Don't think its the axis assignment for my spoiler lever its the button under it? Or is that the axis assignment, just not sure! An axis is a movable range, like a lever. Your yoke has two axes - X and Y. The throttle is yet another axis. You know, there exists this concept in the world called troubleshooting. If you're unsure of something, isolate it. My bet is that it's the axis. Buttons don't usually have spikes, so they don't usually trigger things. So, disable the spoiler axis, and try that out...something I have said at least three times now... Usually, when multiple people tell you something, it's a good indication that you should pay attention to them. To be honest, I'm not even sure why you posted this because it doesn't seem like you're doing a good job of reading, or paying attention to any of what is written here. Kyle Rodgers
September 18, 201411 yr Author Hi, i only study and use the NGX. It's quite impossible for me to do any troubleshooting at the moment as i'm 2000 miles away on holiday. I'm only saying that this only happens with the button assignment and not the spoiler axis but yes next week i will try removing the spoiler lever axis but that has no connection with my button assignment which is having the problem! September 20, 201411 yr Author Kyle i have picked you up wrong! I understand what you are saying. Think its best to assign the commands through the FMC control options? Found this on avsim- The problem is that you are using the axis ranges to send FSX native spoiler commands rather than using the PMDG panel's spoiler controls. The FSX spoiler logic is hopelessly dorked. In the NGX's FMC you can set keyboard shortcuts for spoilers down, arm/disarm, 50%, flight detent, and full down. In the FMC options page I assigned Shift-F1 through Shift-F5 (that last one in my post above was a typo, should be SHF-F5 instead of SHF-F4) as those keyboard shortcuts for spoilers, and then programmed FSUIPC to send those keystrokes as the lever enters defined axis ranges. The difference between my way and yours is that I send those commands directly to the PMDG panel without inviting FSX to bring its inner retard to the party Vernon Howells
