Searching for F-15

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

after falling in love with the VRS F/A-18E and teh TacPack. I´m thinking of getting the USAF contender, the F-15. There are 2 on the market, one form MilViz (I have no experience about MilViz) and the one from IRIS. I´ve read about the Metal2 Mesh avionics uprade for the IRIS bird but they´re talking about an version 2 release. I´m pretty much undecided which one to take as I rate system fidilety the highest. Both seem to be pretty ok in that.

Can some tell me their  experiences?

Best regards, Steffen

Milviz, definitely Milviz. The FDE is believable and it feels like it should be, and the weapons do work. It received Avsim Gold Star too.

Iris Mudhen on the other hand, has a great exterior model, assuming you also consider the Metal2Mesh avionic upgrade (it enhances textures too). Iris is easier on the fps and I would say the exterior model is slightly better.

Milviz all the way.

Too bad their F-4 Phantom will not carry the same feature as F-15 regarding weapons. So Tacpack is a must. I heard that he who worked on the weapon feature left the team.

Of course this is my 2 cents

Go with Milviz, I have bought many of their products (including the F-15E) and can assure you it is an excellent addon. A buddy of mine has the IRIS F-15 so I was able to try that out on his sim and was not as impressed with the IRIS so I felt I made the right choice.

If you are interested in their other military aircraft then I can also vouch for the T-38 Talon even though it is a trainer for fighter pilots and not used in combat it is still really fun to fly. I have the Stuka (WWII German dive bomber) but haven't played around with it too much. I do not have the F-86 but have heard good things about it if you are looking to fly an old school fighter. The F-4E they are working on is available but it is still in beta phase so it isn't complete. Again, I don't have it myself (yet) but have heard excellent things about it as well.

I own many of their current aircraft and I have never had a bad experience with Milviz so anything you buy from them should be of excellent quality.

If you decide to go with the Milviz model, best place to get it is from the Milviz website as not all the retailers have put up the latest installer version. Also there are some updates in the support forum that prevent conflicts with other addons.

Yeah. I´ve heared that the there are (were?) some compatibility problems with the VRS TacPack.

So Tacpack is a must.

I´ve bought TacPack together as bundle with the F/A-18, so that´s no problem.

So you all favor the MilViz-version? I´ve seen some vidoes of it, the HUD looks kinda fat and out if style. Is that true to the plane?
