October 8, 201411 yr I had the problem in windows 7 and fixed it.. I do recall it was some usb power setting which did it for me.. There is an thread somewhere on avsim which has the answer.. I Do not have much time for assisting you in getting it as I do not have much time at the time of writing.
October 8, 201411 yr Hi there Glad to keep the BA virtual flag flying. I have used win 8.1 successfully for a long time with PMDG products, and like yourself had the disappearing joystick problem. If you like win 8.1 there is no need to go back to win 7 as in my case, though not for everybody there is a solution that seems to fix the issue. That is to have a paid version of FSUIPC, and let that program deal with the joystick axis' instead of fsx. All this is explained in detail either on the web or follow the FSUIPC manual. It worked for me, hope it will work for you. Kind Regards John Calleja (armchair pilot) John Calleja
October 10, 201411 yr For what it's worth, Wes uses Win8 and has it working...perhaps he can offer suggestions.Unrelated quote, but hopefully it gets his attention:Apologies for late reply! Yes I use Win 8.1 Pro with NO issues with any of my programs apart from the FSX flight control \ joystick disconnect when going from windowed to full screen. Wes Meyer
October 14, 201411 yr Author Hi 77West Thanks for your comment. So you do have the j/stick d/c, but only in certain situations? I.e. going from win-full scrn? I have no idea how to proceed. Maybe there's a way to re-connect them in-flight? N Ross British Airways Virtual Senior Captain

October 14, 201411 yr Author Hi All, I have used FSUIPC to link the controls. So far so good, but just testing still. I find, when I first move the control, say to bank- it will jerk badly, but then settles. Turn the other way- same thing- the control 'jumps' then settles. Any thoughts? I have tried re-calibrating many times. Best wishes N Ross British Airways Virtual Senior Captain
