Featured Replies

Hi All,

Though I am completely on X plane 10 but I had to sell of my desktop and hence I have to stick to my laptop where XPX is good but not all places i can fly smoothly. Hence I have gone back to FS9 till i get a laptop specially for X plane.

I am trying to create photo-scenery but what I get is a greyed out area in FS9.

 Can anyone please help me

Thnx.

Hi,

Is the FSET map of the area you are trying to process also grayed out?

No, the map is ok

Mask and tile size are treated different in FS9 vs. FSX

you need to specify in FSET you're rendering for FS9

Untitled.jpg

you also want to set area snap to LOD13  when compiling for FS9

in your FSEartTiles.ini find this line,

CreateAreaMaskBmp        = Yes                                 #if Yes Area Mask Bitmap will be created that are used for Blend and Water and Seasons. (note FS2004 does not know blend)

you will need to manually change it to No

or select No option in FSET GUI, in Create Masks option

(note FS2004 does not know blend, read addendum to the command to further understand)

Yeah but I want crisp sat images and the google service url does not work. Bing works but the quality does not look good. I want quality, like the Alps in Europe / Vancouver / Banff

Google does work if you are using the patched version of FSET.

Quality will always be an issue with the limitations of FS9.

you may need to manually address each tile to get the best looking results

before you compile them to final bgl; it almost doesn’t matter which source you use; they all need touchups

Which patched version ? I am using the one from the forum Fset 1.3.

Manual touch up ah not my thing i just rather download it at 0 res.
