April 21, 200521 yr Hello all, Just saw this and figured I'd pass it on -- information on the FSD T38 and C17 . . . looking good. http://www.fsd-international.com/projects/t38_fs9.htmBest to allClay

April 22, 200521 yr Hi Clay,I was surprised to see the electronic gauges in the cockpit. FSD's previous FS2002 version of the T-38 had a conventional attitude indicator, which is what I'd expect. Are you aware of actual T-38's which have been retrofitted with modern gauges?Ken
April 22, 200521 yr There are a lot of them in this series, with a wide variety of combinations in avionics. The previous freeware version used an FS98-built attitude indicator, which is not well compatible with the current version of the simulator. It can slow some systems down (its not really supposed to work at all). Plus this configuration allows Reality XP users to integrate their Jetline avionics seamlessly.http://www.fsd-international.com/team/TD_forum_sig.gif
April 22, 200521 yr I love the C-17 in real life, unfortunately it doesn't look like this upcoming C-17 is geared toward the 'hardcore' simmer as I noticed in the pics that some of the flight instruments were deafult MSFS instruments, and the rest of the flight deck doesn't appear to be faithfully recreated. No disrespect to anyone, just an observation, and if I am wrong in any of these observations please feel free to correct me politely. Much appreciated. Thanks,Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
April 22, 200521 yr Jeff,What you observe is correct. My intention all along hasn't been to recreate faithfully the systems that are actually on the C-17. That alone would take at least a year to program correctly within FS. The motivation for the revision of the C-17 (with the inclusion of the new VC) was done because of popular demand of those who enjoyed the Project Open-Sky version I did for FS 2002, and is why it is being included as the bonus aircraft with the revised T-38 package. We felt a nice little military package would give a bit of variety to our offering. Regards,Owen
April 22, 200521 yr Good deal Owen, thanks for your reply, if you ever create an E-3, I'll pick that one up.Jeff Jeff Commercial | Instrument | Multi-Engine Land AMD 5600X, RTX3070, 32MB RAM, 2TB SSD
April 22, 200521 yr As a side note, I have developed a panel.cfg using gauges from a freeware package for FS 2002 (that seem to work just fine in FS 2004) by Paul Schwerdtfeger. It will be available to those who choose to use his panel, and will show duplicate in the VC - including the HUD.Best,Owen
April 22, 200521 yr Hello Owen! Thanks for deciding to provide a newer version of your C17 for FS2004! I loved the one you made for FS2002 and have been missing it ever since! I also like the T-38. I can't wait til the combo package is available!Sincerely,David >As a side note, I have developed a panel.cfg using gauges>from a freeware package for FS 2002 (that seem to work just>fine in FS 2004) by Paul Schwerdtfeger. April 23, 200521 yr Both planes look awesome. I'm especially looking forward to flying the C-17... any shots of the updated panel in the VC by chance?
April 23, 200521 yr Any chance of someone posting screenshots? (I can't access their site... I assume someone in my neck of the woods got banned. I'd take it personal, but I know it wasn't me and I have a dynamic IP.)
May 11, 200521 yr I second that request for the updated panel. I'd love to see what the VC looks like with real gauges.
