FSX Missing Liveries from Default Aircraft and Some Add-ons

Featured Replies

I looked and could not find anything exactly like this.

I had an issue on my previous computer where the extra liveries of all the default planes, and some of the add on planes just disappeared one day. I was having frame rate issues and other problems with the computer so we bought a new one (with windows 8.1)

Installed FSX today and have the same problem with the missing planes. I looked in the files and they all have thumbnails and the aircraft files look like I think they should. The frame rate problems are solved with the new hardware.

Still waiting to reinstall my traffic software and scenery...hope no problems arise with them.

First, any tips on how to get the extra liveries back? Also, how could the install have the same problems on a brand new computer when I installed straight from the DVD's and installed the 2 service packs from the FSX software?

Do you have "show all variations" checked on the bottom of the plane selection page?

Wow, okay I definitely feel like a moron. That was it.

And there I was looking through config files and such.

I guess sometimes with computers you think the problem has to be more complicated than it is. Never even noticed that button was there on the selection screen...after all these years lol

Thanks Jay!

As an extension to this topic, I have a multitude of WOAI installed on both FSX and FS9. On FS9 they all show up. However, for FSX there is only a smidgen of them - not the vast numbers as I would have expected!

Can someone point me to where the issue can be resolved?

Thanks

Planes won't show up in FSX' aircraft selection menu if their folders don't contain a "panel" and/or "sound" folder.

My add-ons from my FS9/FSX days

My issue is with the WOAI not showing up in the simulator, nothing to do with the selection menu.

WOAI was installed with the FSX installer, so there is no requirement for conversion.

I use AIFP and a nice piece of software it is, too!
