If you don't want to use FSUIPC's autosave feature, I can highly recommend the freeware FSXSave (here at Avsim I believe).

I need to check that out. Thanks for the suggestion.

Wow. Overkill but it will definitely help with the OOM frustration.

Overkill indeed, but that's the only way to keep the untamed beast that is FSX in the cage where it belongs. Take your eye off it for a second and she bites you.

I switch views like crazy. I move all around the VC, hang out on the spotplane view, rotate through cabin views, and now that I have vPilot with PilotCentral's AI package, I am checking out online a/c on VATSIM all the time. I have a powerful rig which lets me get away with this, but nevertheless, it inevitably leads to a problem.

It's a simulator. Like willywonka said above, FSX is really a sight to be seen these days. REX, ASN, PMDG, incredible airports, etc. If I am going to buy that stuff, I want to literally see that stuff. This means that I have to save a lot. And from what i can gather about FSUIPCs autosave, it's not a full save like the default FSX. With the FSX feature, I don't have an issue with my 777 panel config or anything. It's all there. But I am going to give this FSXsave a try. Sounds cool.
