#1 has Windows 6.1 (7600/2)

#2 has Windows 6.1 (7601/2) Service Pack 1

Why the difference?  Has the new (#1) been updated?

John

No, I use each disk that came with the PC. Just the version of windows that shipped with it....

To quote myself and to emphasize it:

Because in your log.txt of #1is written:

So obviously planecommand is the problem here, and if you provide us with the "planecommand.log", maybe we find a reason why planecommand crashes.

it also happens with the Carenado scroll wheel plugin, and carenado are very helpful, but they too cant seem to tell me why it works on one PC and not the other......

You still should post the log file of the other plugin.

WORKING PC:-

Logging started for log at G:\X-Plane 10=basic/planecommand.log

Plugin dir:G:\X-Plane 10=basic/Resources/plugins/planecommand/

Plugin data dir:G:\X-Plane 10=basic/Resources/plugins/planecommand/data/

X-Plane dir:G:\X-Plane 10=basic/

Read properties file: G:\X-Plane 10=basic/planecommand.settings

CRASHING PC:-

Logging started for log at G:\X-Plane 10/planecommand.log

Plugin dir:G:\X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/planecommand/

Plugin data dir:G:\X-Plane 10/Resources/plugins/planecommand/data/

X-Plane dir:G:\X-Plane 10/

Failed to open properties file: G:\X-Plane 10/planecommand.settings

Lanch the X Plane 10 installer and choose the update tab.

It will add missing files, or replace corrupted files.

I think this is the problem.

Check if the file planecommand.settings exists. If not, copy it over from your working PC.

If the file exists, check the file permission (i.e. if you're allowed to read and write this file). While you're at it, check all other file permissions as well.

Also a massive shout out to user

Over at the .org. he remoted in and was a massive help!

Great!!

Seldom if ever do OS updates and patches cause problems with existing programs and installations.  Most of us disable automatic OS updates so our simming is not interrupted at inconvenient times while flying.  I always check and install updates once a week for Windows.  Don't forget to check for them!

I am really surprised about this. Maybe it's the plugin requiring SP.  funny

But hey it's working now enjoy

All other things being equal, it seemed to be the logical choice.

Congratulations!
