December 6, 201411 yr Author #1 has Windows 6.1 (7600/2) #2 has Windows 6.1 (7601/2) Service Pack 1 Why the difference? Has the new (#1) been updated? John No, I use each disk that came with the PC. Just the version of windows that shipped with it.... To quote myself and to emphasize it: Because in your log.txt of #1is written: So obviously planecommand is the problem here, and if you provide us with the "planecommand.log", maybe we find a reason why planecommand crashes. it also happens with the Carenado scroll wheel plugin, and carenado are very helpful, but they too cant seem to tell me why it works on one PC and not the other......
December 6, 201411 yr Commercial Member it also happens with the Carenado scroll wheel plugin, and carenado are very helpful, but they too cant seem to tell me why it works on one PC and not the other...... You still should post the log file of the other plugin. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir

Check if the file planecommand.settings exists. If not, copy it over from your working PC. If the file exists, check the file permission (i.e. if you're allowed to read and write this file). While you're at it, check all other file permissions as well. Mario Donick .:. vFlyteAir

Also made EVERYTHING in the whole folder full permissions, still does not work. i am tearing my hair out!

December 7, 201411 yr Great!! Seldom if ever do OS updates and patches cause problems with existing programs and installations. Most of us disable automatic OS updates so our simming is not interrupted at inconvenient times while flying. I always check and install updates once a week for Windows. Don't forget to check for them! i7-4790K o/c @ 4.8 GHz, Corsair H-110 liquid cooler, 32 GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, MSI Maximus VII Hero mobo Samsung Pro 512 GB SSD Corsair GFX Hydro GTX-1080 8 GB, (2) 4TB hybrid HDs Win 10 (1607), X-Plane 10.51r2 and X-Plane 11.01b1
