May 6, 200521 yr Three days ago I bought the new Ariane Boeing 737-700 Ng VCe with the 2Di Panel system to install on my non-internet connected Flightsim-PC. I read the 737-700 "Base Pack Install Advice.pdf" and thought that there would be no problems. When the Ariane activation - window appeared, I pressed "A", then inserted name and second name, pressed "next" to continue, then entered Receipt ID (Order ID) and Transaction Code, pressed "NEXT", chose "Offline (through Email) Activation", pressed "Save Activation Mail Into File" and was suddenly confronted with a new window which suggested to save a "key" - file (though they call it a "log-file" in the manual). I chose a name, added the ending "key" and sent Ariane the file. I waited for two days and then got a very "helpful" Email from Ariane, saying "These are NOT your key files sir - PLEASE read the BASE PACK INSTALL ADVICE manual !!!!Why is it you don't like manuals? :() Pilots read manuals - what is your problem with them? Are you allergic to manuals - LOLIn your service ARIANE STUDIOS"This is all the help I get from them for paying EUR 95.36 (Base pack and one additional livery)? I saw some obviously happy customers posting messages here saying how good the Ariane 737 and their customer support is (which was the reason I bought it). Can someone tell me what I did wrong? Maybe I am too dumb to understand this 22-pages "Base Pack Install Advice.pdf" or the problem arose because English is not my mother tongue - but still...shouldn

He receives a little good publicity regarding his latest offering and humility flies out of the window...!Many have commented about the extraordinarilly complex installation procedures Ariane adopts and I'm sure that you'll get friendly advice from Avsim forum members to assist you. (Personally, I would if I could but I line buy P.T.'s pockets.)Nevertheless, 'a leopard cannot change it's spots' and I recommend that you demand an apology from Ariane for their unhelpful, arrogant and conceited response to your legitimate request for assistance. For nearly $100, you're entitled to some respect!Toni.

May 6, 200521 yr >(Personally, I would if I could but I line buy P.T.'s>pockets.)Thanks for your answer anyway :-)>>Nevertheless, 'a leopard cannot change it's spots' and I>recommend that you demand an apology from Ariane for their>unhelpful, arrogant and conceited response to your legitimate>request for assistance.>>For nearly $100, you're entitled to some respect!Well, yes, one would think so...although at the moment I would be content to get either a working 737 or my money back ;-)
May 6, 200521 yr Sorry for the 'typo' in message #1 above....I'm sure someone will help you get the thing installed, but your chances of a refund are probably somewhere between Zero and Nil.Ariane Studios "At Your Service"? Yeah right.Toni.
May 6, 200521 yr Well, they just "tried to help me". They sent me the "737-700 Base Install Advice.pdf", which I already have, by email again without any other comment or word. At least they do *SOMETHING*. Probably so they can say afterwards that everything is my own fault... I really don
May 6, 200521 yr Hello!Firstly let me state one fact,as Ariane says;READ THE MANUAL!!!!This is extremely important!I have done several mistakes, and sent 10-20 mails to Ariane just because i didnt. And yes, everytime i have to admit,it has been my fault.People tend to think that the install and activation procedure is fail-safe,and just fires ahead on trying to activate whether or not they have read the manual or not.Ariane's activation system is very un-easy believe me, and they claim it is because of piracy.I believe that.Ariane is a easy match on any file sharing software. One thing that i'm pretty sure the manual states,is that for a offline activation,it CANT be installed on a second machine. You said your sim PC was NOT internet connected right. That might be your first problem...Secondly, and what many find frustrating with the activation,is the fact that if you have done anything wrong trying to activate online, you'll most likely end up with the receipt beeing disabled. That might be your second problem...What i suggest, check you receipt. If it has been disabled, you can't activate the addon online. And most likely you have done something wrong here, to get the receipt disabled.I find the most easy and reliable way is the offline activation. Then you also can reinstall as many times that you want.Next, contact Ariane, and explain the problem. If you have done or suspect you have done something wrong,be humble about it.They have all rights too refuse a second activation for you, as they have stated it clearly in the manual and readme file in the install, that the manual MUST be read prior to activating. The worst thing you do, is start by sending a mail after making a mistake, claiming this is the worst activation crap ever and if not bla bla... i will sue you bla bla bla...You wont be getting any help there.I have had many problems installing and activating their addons, and at first i took the above approach, saying i have paid so much money blabla...I soon learned this was not the right way. After many mails back and forth with Ariane, all my problems have been solved, and at the moment i could almost bless their customer service sky high.I would guess that Ariane has gotten their portion of mails containing nothing but hate against them, and i think we should take that in considerations when mailing them.Be humble...Then you will get help.
May 6, 200521 yr If you are able to open that generated file, and copy and paste the contents of it directly into a mailsheet, I would suggest that. It should look something like this:Your Name (your name)[email protected] (your email)Order ID (your order id)Transaction Code (your code)Then there is a five lined section of lettersand numbers, which is your computergeneratedID.Try that. May 6, 200521 yr My gererated file looks something like that - to me it looks O.K. but of course I don
May 6, 200521 yr >Hello!>>Firstly let me state one fact,as Ariane says;>READ THE MANUAL!!!!I have done this at least four times!!!>People tend to think that the install and activation procedure>is fail-safe,and just fires ahead on trying to activate>whether or not they have read the manual or not.I have READ the manual. May 6, 200521 yr Hello SveinI hate to disagree with you, but I believe that in paying $100 to Ariane (or any other developer), you're entitled to respect with a query, rather than the sarcastic reply Moonraker got (which is why this thread started). You say "Be humble". WHY? Not every purchaser of Ariane's products is able to understand their complicated manuals, just as some users are more 'computer literate' than others. Whatever happened to 'the customer is aways right..'? I'm not suggesting that people should be rude to Ariane or aggressive in their approach for help (because as we all know, Ariane is NEVER rude to their customers......), but Ariane are not 'tin Gods'. You earn respect - Ariane aren't in the position to 'demand it' before giving help after taking your dollars, and the consumer shouln't be made to 'walk on eggshells' before requesting customer service. If it were me, I'd say "Thank you for your custom - how can I assist you?" - but maybe I'm just old-fashioned.Be well.Toni.
May 6, 200521 yr Well i can understand it:)Okey. If u still can download it,the receipt hasn't been disabled.Good for you. Then you dont have to ask ariane to re-enable it:)It would normally cost 25
May 6, 200521 yr With all respect ,sir.I honestly think his thread was started because he needed help in activating. No let us NOT start a flamewar again.I agree with you,Ariane are not right in replying in any sarcastic matter, but as i said,we should take in consideration the fact on why they maybe do.Now again, i replied here too help him.And the way i stated above here,is a good way to start with. You need to earn respect with Ariane, and by beeing pollute from the start, you will. And NO,i dont agree with it.You shouldn have too.But for the moment ,thats the way things are.We all can change...i hope.
May 6, 200521 yr Yes the file looks like your example with the exception that there is a SEVEN lined section of letters (or a SIX LINED one for the FMC).The funny thing is, that I even have deactivated the Windows XP Security Center completely (it is an offline PC!) - so that should be no problem either.I removed now the"ATTENTION! Do not change this file! For succesfull registering our product please send this file to Ariane AirSHOP ([email protected])"part from the file and pasted the rest into a new email. Also attached the complete file to the email.I
May 6, 200521 yr Ignore Rauch, svein, and anyone else who doesn't know him. He lives for threads about Ariane just to jump in with his negative comments.Unlike him, if I had something helpful to offer I would, but I don't own any Ariane products. Just be aware of his agenda.
