May 7, 200521 yr Glad to hear things worked out for you. I still think the install process sounds more than a little ridiculous and plan to stay away from Ariane - plus from what I hear they charge for repaints which is complete BS IMO too, and I refuse to purchase anything from anyone who charges for repaints.
May 7, 200521 yr Sounds like your receipt is disabled.Did your remember to activate the pushback first??If its the 700 you have bought, you MUST activate the pushback module first, and then the fmc.Check the receipt on their web site.(view old orders)If its disabled, you have done something wrong most likely.
May 8, 200521 yr Clay,Could you tell me how exactly the push-back system works in this package? Are the tugs part of the AC or are they totally separate? Do they work at any airport, or only at specific airports?I'm intrigued by this feature, but can't seem to quite understand how it works, with just some sparse references in the Ariane ads. I am also contemplaining on getting the 700 VCe, but before I shell out $95 I want to make sure that all of it is exactly what I think it is! May 8, 200521 yr IMHO, Ariane deserves to go down and down deep as a company. They should become extinct.
May 8, 200521 yr I activated the pushback first and now trying to activate the fmc and that is a no go online and offline.I am at the fire station tomorrow hope to get a email from Ariane on Monday with help. Jeff
May 8, 200521 yr >IMHO, Ariane deserves to go down and down deep as a company.>They should become extinct.I agree. A company that hides behind emails withouth forum ought to cease to exist. May 8, 200521 yr I think the biggest problem is the selling of the same old models with 2 new things as an all-new release. But hey, if people buy from them, they won't go extinct anytime soon. And they're got their share of gullible people who keep buying the same planes over and over thinking there's something new in them.More power to them if they manage to do business that way, I say. It's the customer who needs to inform himself. If that doesn't happen, they'll continue to make good money.Daniel P.http://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/ng_driver.jpgMember of SJU Photography. May 8, 200521 yr Many thanks to you and many thanks to everybody who tried to help me! One thing I have to say: without the help from the people on this forum I probably still would not have my activation key. Only when I saw the example-log-files posted here, showing how this file should look like did the idea cross my mind that I maybe had to erase the first two lines of the log-file. The Ariane - support failed completely here. At no point did somebody help me to overcome the difficulties their own activation-software had imposed on me. I got two friendly emails as soon as I sent them the "right" logfiles (which were principally the same files as the "wrong" ones), so the support was not really "unfriendly" - he rather was non - existent!
May 8, 200521 yr Good thing it worked out for you, moonraker. To the other guys here with the problem,my advice is you contact ariane.Seems like the activation is messed up in some sort.To moderator, guess its time to lock this one up:)
May 8, 200521 yr Good to hear everything worked out well for you. And welcome to the Ariane experience. Probably the greatest 737Ng simulator ever! I haven't used the PMDG once, since the Ariane 600Ng landed in my pc last october. And now I'm totally enjoying the new 700Ng as well. Rune B.
May 8, 200521 yr I guess it all comes down to informed purchase decisions, freedom of choice, and freedom of speech (Dutch Cheese permitting).Toni.
May 8, 200521 yr I guess I will have no problems flying the 737 (I have used the PMDG 737, too, for quite some time now) BUT I will have a lot to learn how to use the Ariane-simulator! I just made a short flight by simply using Ctrl S to bring up the 2Di - Panel (or whatever it is called). The aircraft really has a very "fluent" feel to it though I must get used to the whole lot of "Ariane-techniques" (I only used pure 2D-panels until now)...I almost produced a Teneriffa - like accident on take-off because I was so involved in those new "panel-techniques" that I almost did not see the other aircraft on the runway :-) During this first short "hop" (without IRS-alignment) there was no FMC, EHSI, TCAS etc but I managed to produce a smooth landing nevertheless. Time will tell if I can get accustomed to those new panels (2Di and 3D) or if I will go back to the PMDG 737 in the end. Even if I should go back remorsefully to aircrafts with pure 2D-panels it is much fun now to learn all those new things and this almost total immersion in the 737-experience provided by all this 3D-stuff, virtual cabin etc
