ASUS UX 301L laptop.

It works fine, although I get 60+ fps only on my desktop due to the dedicated graphics board ( Nvidia 650 Ti ).

I'll try to record a video using Nvidia Shadowplay ;-)

AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)

I like that processor on your laptop. But not fond of Asus products any more.

I've been reading up a bit more on PSX. Its amazing it's written in Java, considering it has such a bad reputation (I'm not knocking Java, I used it for World2XPlane ;-)). Do you know if anyone has thought about getting it working with Outerra?

Yes, I don't recall the dev, but just like there's XView, VisualPSX and PSX-Earth, there's someone working on the Outerra port :-)

Since PSX can read topographic data from the sim used for the visuals or from it's internat database, and given de detail in Outerra, I guess the results can be remarkable :-)

Unfortunately I haven't found a way to record a video using Nvidia ShadowPlay, because it is not using DirectX for the display :-/

@jcomm

 Is PSX using OpenGL ?

Setting up OBS is just slightly complicated but not that you won't figure it out. You have to assign the plugin for it to capture.

Keep the Video save feature to .mp4 and increase the bitrate for higher quality.

iron,

I am giving my first steps with OBS - it is really very powerful !!! Thank you so much!

I used to use Camstudio, but the version I have doesn't do a good job with PSX. With OBS I was already able to record a first video, capturing the whole desktop :)  Now I just have to fine tune teh many options, but it works just great, and there are many tutorials in youtube too...

Then I'll have to see if my youtube account, which I did not use for a loooong time is still valid :-/  ( jcommtube )

Great , yes camstudio is pretty limited .

OBS will directly convert to a format.

I will probably try to edit the video to add my voice. Usually I do not succeed in doing both things at the same time, so, I end up having to repeat the video recording many times. If editing to add voice is possible, I'll try to do it that way :-)

I think you should be able to record it with voice.
