I use VoxAtc, how can I perform the approach brief, when I havn't yet received my approach & decent instructions ?

once you get them than do the approach brief or  you can assume  a rwy   for the landing  and do them

I also use ASN live weather, destination weather changes frequently so it is not easy to assume a RWY . So I do a fictitious brief prior to TOD, then I do an informed brief when I have received my approach instructions from ATC ?

You could perform the brief before the TOD, and then if the runway or circumstances change, re-brief as necessary during the descent.
