December 22, 201411 yr I need to reinstall FSX and Acceleration to hopefully fix my dll crash on exit. But my install DVD's for FSX Gold and Acceleration are not being properly read by the dvd drive. The files all show up but the drive constantly is reading over and over, no exe works, it just freezes and takes forever. Has anyone else come across this problem? What am I going to do? The Steam Edition is not an option for me since I use PMDG and Reality XP which are not compatible.
December 22, 201411 yr The first thing I'd try is cleaning the discs. I use Windex and always wipe across the disc to dry, never in a circle. I read online about changing certain settings in the properties but that did not fix it. It must be the bluray dvd player I have and the old fsx gold disc not working for some reason. This sucks.
December 23, 201411 yr Is there an option on your blu-ray/dvd player to only read CDs. I don't know if this even exists, only exploring. Also, as your insight tells you, try the disk on a different CD reader. dv Win 10 Pro || i7-8700K || 32GB || ASUS Z370-P MB || NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 11Gb || 2 960 PRO 1TB, 840 EVO My Files in the AVSIM Library
