December 23, 201411 yr Hello, I am very new to AVSIM, this is my first post ever so please forgive any mistakes or typos that I may make. I am about to switch over from FSX to prepare3D, and I was wondering what license would to be appropriate for me to get? My situation is interesting I am a student pilot who has taken his private written an instrument written; my age holds me back from getting my private license. I'm in high school, I am 15 years old, and I didn't know what the differences were between the professional license and the academic license (because the website makes it very confusing for me). Which I should choose? I contacted Lockheed Martin but they didn't help me at all so I was wondering if anyone had any expertise for me. Thank you,
December 23, 201411 yr Moderator License discussions are seriously frowned upon on most forums. your decision is between you and LM. The only difference between the Pro version & the Academic is Academic has afaint watermark in the upper right hand corner, otherwise they are functionally the same. I suggest you get the one you can afford and not discuss it any further. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160

December 24, 201411 yr In the spirit of Christmas, I'll give you a helping hand. The Academic version is for students, like yourself. Have a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year. Jazz
December 24, 201411 yr You want to use it for training and learning purposes and not entertainment. You are a high school student. P3D's site says this: Academic License K-12 StudentTraining, InstructionSimulation, Learning Self-explanatory. Enjoy.
